Le Rougegorge familier se présente comme un petit oiseau rondelet, avec des ailes relativement courtes atteignant péniblement le milieu de la queue.

L'adulte est aisément reconnaissable à la couleur orangée qui envahit tout le devant du corps.

Hiver 2020 pas beaucoup d'oiseaux chez moi, quelques mésanges, 5 Juncos ardoisés, 2 Bruants hudsonien et des Geais bleus en abondance, de vrais pillards et hypers agressifs et territoriaux. Ils sont quand même brillants... Ils se font constamment des réserves en cachant toute la nourriture que je mets aux mangeoires et chassent tous les intrus de ces derniers... Ce beau Cardinal mâle est le premier que j'ai le plaisir d'avoir à Duhamel et les Geais bleu parfois au nombre impressionnant d'une vingtaine l'arcelle continuellement, il ne vient plus aux mangeoires que très tôt le matin ou en toute fin de journée ou lorsqu'il fait sombre comme durant cette neige... Pas facile de faire une photo car il est extremement nerveux, les Geais bleus lui foncent carrément dessus les ailes ouvertes, du jamais vu pour moi....

Winter 2020 not many birds at my place, some chickadees, 5 Dark Eyes Juncos, 2 Hudson's Buntings and Blue Jays in abundance, They really are aggressive and territorial birds. They are still very smart and brilliant ... They are constantly making reserve by hiding all the food that I put in the feeders and chasing all the intruders of them ... This beautiful male Cardinal is the first that I have the pleasure to have in Duhamel and the Blue Jay sometimes at the impressive number of twenty arace him continuously, it does not come to the feeders until very early in the morning or at the end of the day or when it is dark as during this snow storm... Not easy to take a picture of him because he is extremely nervous, the Blue Jays dive at him with open wings, a first for me to have that type of comportement....

Ce Rouge-gorge est présent au jardin toute l'année mais ses apparitions sont extrêmement brèves et nous n'avons pas toujours les mêmes horaires :-)) Le grand froid qui sévit en ce moment l'a poussé à se rapprocher un peu plus des mangeoires et il s'est même montré coopératif aujourd'hui en me laissant le temps de prendre une vingtaine de clichés.

Ce charmant oiseau m'a fait la surprise de venir avec un, ou une, invité. Un autre Rouge-gorge !! Tous les deux, côte à côte, à une mangeoire. Etant un oiseau réputé pour son comportement peu sociable et très territorial, je ne sais pas quoi en penser. Un couple déjà formé, vu qu'il a fait plutôt chaud juste avant ces températures glaciales ?

Le prochain challenge est donc de les photographier ensemble ... Je ne garantis rien ... 😊

This Robin is present in the backyard all year round but his appearances are extremely brief and we don't always have the same hours :-)) The cold spell that is raging at the moment has led him to approach the feeders and he has even been cooperative today as he gave me time to take about twenty pictures.

This charming Robin surprised me to come with one guest, another Robin !! Both, side by side, at a feeder. Being a bird renowned for its very territorial and unsociable character, I don't know what to think about it. A couple already formed, given that it was quite hot in the weeks preceding this freezing episode ?

Of course, the next challenge is a capture of the two ... I don't guarantee anything ... 😊

On the left there are 3 parakeet nests in the trunk.

First time that I can see that in november ???

Usually this kind of behaviour happens in march

I counted 200-250 of them

Dès que deux charbonnières se retrouvent ensemble sur la mangeoire, l'individu dominé disparaît au profit du dominant; en général, les mâles dominants apparaissent et se servent avant les femelles.

On peut observer facilement le comportement adopté par une mésange charbonnière avec la graine dont elle s'est emparée : tout d'abord elle s'envole vers une branche. Elle cale ensuite la graine entre ses doigts et commence à marteler de puissants coups de bec jusqu'à ce qu'elle perce un petit trou dans la coque.

Si une mangeoire se trouve dans le territoire d'un mâle, celui-ci houspillera les autres charbonnières, qui pourront manger à condition de ne pas avoir d'autres prétentions.

Moins agile que les autres mésanges, elle passe beaucoup de temps par terre.

Le poil du Lièvre est de couleur fauve plus ou moins brun et roux avec des poils noirs et même jaunâtres particulièrement en été, mais son ventre est blanc crème. Ses poils de bourre sont blancs. Une mue se fait à l'automne et à la sortie de l'hiver, avant l'été.

Il porte de longues oreilles (9 à 13 cm) à l'extrémité desquelles se dessine une tache noire vaguement en forme de triangle. Lorsqu'il mange, il les replie sur son dos. Sa petite queue (6 à 13 cm) est noire mais blanche sur le dessous. Ses pattes postérieures ont une longueur et une puissance importante ce qui lui permet, lorsqu'il les déploie, de bondir fortement (jusqu'à 2 m de haut, 3 m de long) et de se déplacer à une vitesse impressionnante (jusqu'à 80km/h). D'ailleurs, le lièvre est aussi nageur, il peut traverser une rivière si besoin.

Sa grande taille est l'une de ses caractéristiques : entre 50 et 70 cm de long pour un poids qui peut atteindre 7 kg. L'absence de dimorphisme sexuel rend difficile de distinguer les femelles qu'on appelle hases, des mâles, en dehors des périodes de rut durant lesquelles les comportements diffèrent.

Outre sa dentition qui compte 28 dents, son odorat et son ouïe sont excellents, ce qui compense sa myopie oculaire malgré des yeux qui offrent une vision à 360°. Le lièvre ne pousse des cris qu'en cas de danger mortel sinon il est silencieux, ainsi que solitaire. Il peut vivre une bonne dizaine d'année, voire douze ans, dans la nature, où il vit de façon sédentaire et sauvage (le lièvre ne s'apprivoise pas).

Le rouge gorge est un oiseau solitaire et très territorial. En effet, chaque individu vit seul, et son chant pourtant si mélodieux, fait office d'avertissement pour ses congénères. Sa toison rouge est également utilisée comme un signal d'avertissement, pour impressionner et s'emparer d'un territoire, ou pour défendre le sien.

Ce côté territorial est présent été comme hiver. Lorsque deux rouges-gorges entrent en conflit, ils paradent en bombant leur plastron rouge, sifflent de manière très puissante, puis se battent, malheureusement parfois jusqu'à la mort.

Si à nos yeux le rouge-gorge est un petit oiseau mignon et inoffensif, il est en fait très agressif avec ses congénères. Il s'agit même du passériforme le plus agressif.

Il est cependant très peu craintif de l'homme, et il n'est pas rare d'en voir faire leur nid dans des granges ou des cabanes, surtout en hiver.

Il est également courant de pouvoir observer des rouges-gorges se poser juste à coté de quelqu'un qui jardine par exemple. Même s'il ne se laissera pas toucher, il ne ressent aucune crainte d'être à proximité d'humains. Pour ces petits passériformes, on remarque donc dans leur comportement que l'homme ne représente aucune réelle menace.

Très commune dans les jardins, la mésange charbonnière est plus grande et moins agile que les autres mésanges. C'est un oiseau agressif, qui dominera souvent ses cousins plus petits près des mangeoires
