The main idea of such gardens is to collect and display beautiful natural landscapes in a confined space.
New York City Scholar's Garden is one of two authentic classic Chinese outdoor gardens built in the United States.
On the Snug Harbor Botanical Garden premises, a classic Chinese outdoor garden appeared, made in the style of the gardens of the Ming dynasty, which ruled in China in the XIV-XVII centuries.
This garden's architectural components were made and imported from Suzhou, China, including roof tiles, columns, beams, doors and windows, bridges, and floor and walkway paving materials.

The gear here is about 1.5 inch in diameter. It's an advertising piece that I picked up at a trade show years ago. It's from a company that provides systems for a process called injected metal assembly (IMA) that is designed to securely bind components of different materials together for assembly in manufacturing.
In case anyone is interested, the company says that IMA "provides permanent, reliable assemblies by injecting a small amount of molten zinc or lead alloy into and around components being joined. The molten metal cools and solidifies, accompanied by minute shrinkage that locks the injected metal onto the components."
Presumably, the process was used to join the gear to the shaft here.

Little Island, a new, free public park pier within the larger Hudson River Park, opened to the public on May 21, 2021, providing New Yorkers and visitors from around the world with a unique green space unlike any other in New York City. Planned in partnership with the Hudson River Park Trust, Little Island was funded primarily through Barry Diller and the Diller-Von Furstenberg Family Foundation through an extraordinary philanthropic gift to the Hudson River Park.
Components of the pier, nestled among more than 350 species of flowers, trees and shrubs, include a 687-seat amphitheater and an intimate stage and lawn space, along with dazzling views of other portions of Hudson River Park, New York City and the Hudson River.
Little Island was designed by Thomas Heatherwick of Heatherwick Studio, with landscape design by Signe Nielsen of MNLA.
Little Island’s distinct exterior is supported by concrete piles. On top of the piles, 132 concrete “tulips” make up the structure of the park. Each tulip’s shape is unique and has a different weight load capacity to hold the soil, lawns, overlooks and trees. The original Pier 54 piles remain to provide habitat for aquatic life."

Note: I finally visited here yesterday. It's something to explore when visiting NYC. Here you can see the WTC (World Trade Center) and Witney Museum in distance. BOY! even it's only in mid-80'sF yesterday, but, the humidly was unbearable. Was planning to visit "Witney Museum" nearby, it was closed (on Tuesdays). Here is close to the "High Line" and "Hudson Yards", so that you can also visit.
The best time to visit here is at dusk, you'd see the sunset in wide open view. My daughter & I were there around 3pm, when it was too sunny and humid.

For Macro Mondays: "Small and Smaller" theme, it's a demonstration board from Universal Instruments Corp. that I've had for many years. The company builds automated machines for placing and attaching components--both small and smaller--to circuit boards.

Cirrocumulus is one of the three main genus-types of high-altitude tropospheric clouds, the other two being cirrus and cirrostratus. They usually occur at an altitude of 5 kilometres to 12 kilometres. Like lower altitude cumuliform and stratocumuliform clouds, cirrocumulus signifies convection. Unlike other high-altitude-tropospheric clouds like cirrus and cirrostratus, cirrocumulus includes a small amount of liquid water droplets, although these are in a supercooled state. Ice crystals are the predominant component, and typically, the ice crystals cause the supercooled water drops in the cloud to rapidly freeze, transforming the cirrocumulus into cirrostratus. This process can also produce precipitation in the form of a virga consisting of ice or snow. Thus cirrocumulus clouds are usually short-lived. They usually only form as part of a short-lived transitional phase within an area of cirrus clouds and can also form briefly as a result of the breaking up of part of a cumulonimbus anvil. Properly, the term cirrocumulus refers to each cloud, but is typically also used to refer to an entire patch of cirrocumulus. When used in this way, each cirrocumulus element is referred to as a 'cloudlet'. 21758

Latvia has over 12 thousand rivers that stretch for 38,000 kilometres, as well as 2,256 lakes with a collective area of 1000 sq.km. Marion is a city in McDowell County, North Carolina, United States. It is the county seat of McDowell County. This image was created from multiple exposures blended together in Photoshop CS6 layers using the "Lighten" blend mode. All exposures were taken with a single Paul C. Buff Einstein strobe with a 22" beauty dish attached to a Elinchrom boom arm. March 20th is World Frog Day, which was created in 2009 to increase awareness of the plight of threatened frog species around the world. All amphibians, including frogs, are important components of the global ecosystem, as indicators of environmental health and contributors to human health. More than one third of them are currently threatened with extinction. Addressing the amphibian extinction crisis represents the greatest species conservation challenge in the history of humanity.
We know there are at least 7,400 species of frogs (AmphibiaWeb), but sadly, we also know that at least 2,000 (28%) of these are threatened with extinction (IUCN Red List). The actual number of threatened species is no doubt considerably higher, because around 1,000 species (14%) have not yet been assessed for their threat categories, and for another 1,000 (14%) of them, so little is known about their status in the wild that they cannot be accurately assessed.
Many things are causing frog populations around the world to decline, and in fact, at least 35 species that we know of have gone extinct in recent times. Habitat loss and destruction is one of the worst problems, not only for frogs, but for many other species of animals and plants.
Many human activities contribute to habitat destruction and the decline of amphibians, including water pollution, the introduction of non-native species, climate change, agriculture, and urban development. Diseases, especially chytridiomycosis, which is caused by the chytrid fungus, are also having a massive effect on frogs, many of which are already under stress from the threats mentioned above. - Wikipedia

Wikipedia - Dyscophus antongilii, the Madagascar tomato frog, is a species of frog in the family Microhylidae.
They breed in the rainy season and are nocturnal. They tend to eat small insects and invertebrates. They are also on the endangered species list. Their lifespan is 6 to 8 years.
When threatened, a tomato frog puffs up its body. When a predator grabs a tomato frog in its mouth, the frog's skin secretes a thick substance that gums up the predator's eyes and mouth, causing the predator to release the frog to free up its eyes.
Tomato frogs will reach sexual maturity in 9–14 months. Females are larger than males and can reach 4 inches in length. Males can reach 2 to 3 inches in length.
A few things that would go into a bowl of cold cereal for hot summer mornings, Craisins, Shredded Wheat, and Fiber One, (not shown optional) walnuts or almonds and honey, yeah and of course the milk too, to finish it out with.

In this shot of Copper Island, the cloud I saw from a distance plays a major part. As it was forming I raced to a familiar spot to catch it at just the right time. Copper Island is left as a silhouette, and makes the shot more about shapes than the nature it captures.

The original photo was of the walkway along the Kennebec River in Augusta, Maine. The walkway was converted from a railway route that went from Augusta to Gardiner and is very scenic, especially in the Fall.
Photofox Cloud Wanderer components were used to create this image. Philip Jose Farmer's "Tiers" science fiction series has a world in which the natural laws allow "land tsunamis" to happen. That was my inspiration for this creation.
