I saw a picture of the OSU library online recently and thought this view of it would be a good example of complexity. It looks chaotic to me, with lights, shapes, colors, and beams going in all different directions. The reflections from the skylights on the ceiling also add chaos and complexity.

I saw this done in another photo done by Jonas Linhardt

The properties of light and shadows are so foundational for photography - wish I knew more, but I do know what I like...and this photo's simplicity elicits the complexity of various elements, including dramatic and emotional facets. So many times, what one thinks will be simple ends up being complex - and what seems logical actually emphasizes emotion.... When one approaches a problem as 'easy' it invariably is not, so best to be surprised with a 'difficult' issue that is easily solved! :) Naples, FL
Having nothing is just not as simple as you think.
Standing by itself, it must have been bald to death.
Complexity: The shelves on which these bottles stand have lights that change colors every few seconds. After many shots of the different colors I found that the blue hue was my favorite and complemented the cool, relaxed feel of the bar at the end of a long and busy night. In this image I wanted to capture the different sizes, shapes, and colors of the bottles. There are three rows in these shelves, bottles are placed in a relatively uniform way and sit next to those of their kind, in a direct line in front of or behind the next. Head on, there is more of a pattern and they feel more rhythmic. Shot diagonally, I feel that they create a less dynamic, more complex, yet interesting and fluid image.
