“It doesn't matter how much you want.

What really matters is how much you want it.

The extent and complexity of the problem does

not matter was much as does the willingness to solve it.”

Amigos, I will still be posting to Flickr and checking your latest work, but now I'm becoming more active on Instagram - it's going to be the main social media platform for my images. It's where everybody is. Resistance is futile! Hope we can connect there as well:

I've upload a similar shot before HERE

In photography background can make or break a picture, a background can tell a story and a background also can break your story, messy or cluttered background can take away viewers attention from your main subject unless your background is your "subject". In photojournalism background plays an important role to tell a story.

When I shoot my portrait in this case my son, I will always scout a location first, find a great background and then only position my son, colors of his cloth or attire also very important, this picture won't work if my son wearing a dark or totally black clothing, what I'm trying to say here is that, I plan most of my shot. It is not just a walk in the park.

Sometimes it take a lot of work to produce a simple photograph. Simplicity is the result of hard work, complexity the one of no work at all.

"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak."

A distinctly West Coast inspired table beer that is designed for potential extended sessions. Goldynwell is full of flavour & complexity with smooth oat malt body and refreshing zest of Citra and Mosaic hops.

At a deceptively low 3% alc./vol. Goldynwell delivers everything you would expect in a carefully crafted beer!

In colour (tried b&w) but the colour has a little extra texture. Taken with a DA 35mm Macro.

part of a larger piece with so much detail and complexity I have made two images from it

Here are the close-ups which might help you better appreciate the complexity of a Harvestmen's moulting process. Observe how it uses its chelicerae and pedipalps to carefully hold and guide the freshly emerging limbs, all 8 of them!

So after my usual routine of preparation I used an early tan foundation.

Omg, went on like silk and, gave me just the base colour I feel fits my Italian roots... I actually would love to know if my DNA has a bit of Italian in it.. I certainly think so. Ciao.💜

"The building is Grade II Listed in part because, "... it is the most architecturally ambitious and accomplished example of the Bank of England's 1960s programme of rebuilding regional branches/bullion centres" and "... it is a good example of the work of Building Design Partnership, the largest of the multi-disciplinary practices operating in the 1960s/70s, marrying engineering complexity and architectural finesse, and it was regarded by BDP as a milestone project for the firm"."

Complexities of morning shadows pooling on our floors.

This is one of my new favorite photos and I made it by accident. I selected about 10 different images that I wanted to load into layers to re-arrange. Well, as a slip of the finger would have it, I accidentally clicked “Merge to HDR”! Naturally, nothing was aligned and everything was ghosted. It made for a very interesting montage. So then I went into it and began to do more tweaking with various colors and contrasts until I liked it even more.

The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity.

I shot this from the bridge that crosses the stream below Cavell Lake. Standing waves from water flowing slowly over a submerged rock make a complex interference pattern from the light reflected from the sky and clouds. In the field, you have to look at reflections like this from exactly the right angle or you can't see them.

'Memory Field' (Portrait of Dr Lynne Kelly)

Oil on canvas

300cm x 150cm

I've based this portrait around science writer Lynne Kelly's amazing work and book, 'The Memory Code', her ideas about mnemonic systems of ancient cultures and how they can be used today.

In it, I have tried to hint at just a fraction of the complexity and richness of her mind and work, her love of mathematics and astronomy, and of course the thing she is gaining fame for all around the world, her ideas on the memory systems of older cultures.

The vast landscape she sit in is a potential memory system itself, inspired by the 'Lukasa' which sits next to her on the rock. A Lukasa is a hand held wooden device, enabling long and complex memories to be mentally encoded in abstract patterns of coloured beads, easily retrievable through visual recognition of applied patterns.

To really understand Lynne's amazing ideas, check out her website here and see her other books, The Orality Centre, and bio:

In the grass on any given morning there is this complexity of beauty if you were to just look...

Life is a very complex process and you cannot solve it by some kind of trick . You have to see the complexity of it, and you can only see the complexity of it if you are completely simple. -
