Here is my outfit!
Please excuse my face, I woke up at 6:30 this morning out of excitement.
Leaving in an hour, woooo!
While feeding, the goshawk got more and more nervous while the buzzard got closer. Really like the pose where it looks exactly 90 degrees upwards.

Very well done my friend! This is a great retouch of this photo. I love the light, the nice details, the great sky this is awesome! It is very pleasing to the eyes and it definitely sets the mood.
It was hard for me to only pic one because many of you did great! I will do another competition and I hope you will be part of it. Thanks for all the people who played the game and I hope you had fun retouching this photos.
Have a beautiful day my friends! :-)
Y'all are probably going to tire of bird and beach pics...
I'm stuck here for another week. The soonest "the expert" can see me is a week from today.
A few monarchs left at the enchanted fairy garden in early October. They better hurry - first snow is coming in a couple days!
my booties are made from my own design and are completely hand stitched. i have used michael miller fabrics from the ginger blossom collection - the outer is vintage dots blush and the inner is tortoise plaid. the booties have a 4" long sole with a scallop edge detail using felted blanketing. the straps are finished with a yo yo and a covered button.
Another perfect night to watch the fireworks over the Ottawa River. Saturday night was Portugal's show and it was a beautiful display of color and sparkles. This is the view from behind the Supreme Court. I am glad I don't have to decide who is the winner.

Two big bucks, side-by-side, but one is clearly the winner of this competition. You can see the confidence of his victory in his expression.

The female closest to me did all the work. She used her sensitive antennae to locate a sawfly larva inside the tree trunk. She carefully calculated the exact location to drill into the wood to reach the larva, paralyze it and deliver an egg to it. She is in the drilling stage here. The 2nd female behind her is hoping to harass her enough for her to give up & leave. That way the 2nd female can use the existing hole and deliver her own egg. I read the females will duel with their antennae sometimes when competing for the same egg host. This explains why there were several females on the same tree trunk. Some were drilling into the wood and others were harassing the drilling ones.

My goal with this series is to explore every day scenes under the cover of darkness. A street corner, a lamp post, a doorway. Big city, small town, urban, rural. Man-made light versus nature’s darkness–––light and shadow interpreting minimalist settings in black and white. To see more in this series, check out Cover Of Darkness

10 minutes of clear skie.
This is the time that has been given to me to realize this shot. 10 minutes to realize an idea germinated in my head a few week ago. Nothing has been simple.
At first I spent some time to do research on the Internet and detailed maps to locate this little hidden place. Next came to locate directly on the coast for a final location.
This done, I went back at night last weekend and waited three hours, sometimes under the rain, waiting for a possible clear skie …
It lasted 10 minutes, half an hour before moonrise!
