Blocks are 9mm high of the border, and compacted to nearly flush. Not the pattern I will use though, will take all these up and relay after racking and compacting again.

They're here--the nesting answer for traditional Straight Ahead players! Since a nested configuration requires at least 3" of difference in diameter between nested drums, a 12" mounted tom doesn't fit into a 14" floor tom. Some players feel that the 10" mounted doesn't provide the depth of tone they need from a first tom, so in a nod towards traditional sizes, meet the CS-BOP featuring an 11" mounted tom into a 14" floor tom that's deeper and whose bass is shallower than our popular Standard CS-18 configuration. Also featuring as Standard is an audience-side wood hoop on the bass. Now carry your Bop kit in just two cases: toms-n-bass in one, and your favorite (deep?) snare in another. Swing It!! P.S. another fun detail is that we've maintained the 2:3 ratio seen in an 8"x12" tom here--the 11" tom is 7⅓" deep. 7⅓x11, 12x14, 14x18; plied maple; satin wax.

The Basra Compact, a flagship partnership to revive the economy in southern Iraq
Basra, 05 May 2015 – The authorities of Basra and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) today signed a flagship agreement, the Basra Compact, aiming at strengthening participatory and accountable governance and reviving the economic activity in the southern governorate, which is not just oil-rich but needs to invest in its human capacity and private sector development. Protecting the cultural and ecological heritage of the Mesopotamian Marshlands is also a priority.
Despite being the richest governorate and hosting the main port in Iraq, Umm Qasr—the only shipping hub in the country—Basra is one of the most affected by poverty and chronic unemployment with 16.1% of the population living below the poverty line of US$ 2.5 per day and facing staggering challenges in terms of access to services.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Basra authorities outlines future cooperation in the areas of decentralization, financial management and budget execution, environment protection, private sector development including micro, small and medium enterprises, and supporting the governorate’s 5-year strategic planning.
“Working with local partners is a fundamental element of national ownership,” the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and UNDP Resident Representative, Lise Grande, said. “This translates into UNDP’s support for the local network of the Global Compact promoting responsible business practices in the areas of gender, human rights, labour standards, environment, service delivery and anti-corruption,” she explained.
UNDP has nearly 40 years of experience in Iraq leading the UN’s development work, providing knowledge and practical expertise. In its long-term engagement with the government and the people of Iraq, UNDP focuses on inclusive participation, accountability, access to justice, women’s empowerment, security sector reform, decentralization and private sector development. In particular, UNDP supports the government’s 4-year development plans (2014-2017).

Nicht überraschend: die Friedensquerfront im "Heißen Herbst"
Eine Kundgebung der „Handwerker für den Frieden“ oder auch "Handwerker stehen auf" um den einst für die AfD-kandidierenden Dessauer Karl Krökel verschmolz -wenn auch defensiv- am 1. Oktober 2022 auf dem Alexanderplatz in Berlin-Mitte mit einer „Friedenskundgebung“ der Friedenskoordination (FRIKO) Berlin, die auch den jährlichen Ostermarsch abhalten.
Die Handwerkerkundgebung war im Vorfeld direkt vom rechtsextremen Compact-Magzin beworben worden, Krökel suchte diese Nähe und hielt mit Jürgen Elsässer diesbezüglich ein Interview. Ca. 500 - 700 Menschen waren an diesem verregneten Samstag nach Berlin angereist, um nicht -wie man hätte erwarten könnnen- auf die Missstände im Handwerk zu verweisen, sondern um -wie schon in Dessau- sich gegen die Russland-Sanktionen der Bundesregierung, für die Öffnung von Nordstream 2 und gegen Waffenlieferungen an die Ukraine auszusprechen. Dabei wurde vor allem viel Hetze gegen die Partei der Grünen betrieben.
Vorausgegangen war eine erste Kundgebung von Handwerkern in Dessau im Sommer diesen Jahres. Mitinitiert hatte dies Reiner Braun aus der Friedensbewegung, der in den letzten Jahren immer wieder für seine Nähe zu Rechten (in einem Fall zu einem Nationalsozialisten, der auf einer Mahnwache sprechen durfte) und in das Verschwörungsspektrum kritisiert wurde, was letztendlich erst eine Querfront möglich machen lässt. Braun war einst auch bei den Mahnwachen "für den Frieden" stark vertreten und Unterstützer des Friedenswinters.
Auf der Handwerkerkundgebung in Berlin sah ich Freie Linke von genau den Personen die auch bei der "linken" Veranstaltung "Heizung, Brot und Frieden" teilnahmen, die Flagge der Freedom-Parade (alles Querdenken), bekannte Aktivisten der FRIKO - die auch beim "Medienmarsch" der Querdenker mit marschierten und auf dem Anti-NATO-Kongress in Berlin vertreten waren; ein Vorstand der Wagenknecht aufstehen-Bewegung -die im Coop-Cafe ihre Treffen haben, durchquerte die Kundgebung interessiert mit seinem Rad; Jürgen Elsässer warb dort mit einem großen Compact-Transparent, es waren Impfgegner vor Ort, Freie Sachsen, Freie Thüringer, Freie Brandenburger - die schon bei der "linken Friedensdemo" der "Zivilen Zeitenwende" am 2. Juli 2022 vor Ort auf ihren Trommeln die Menschen einheizten, Vertreter der Partei dieBasis, pro Russland-Fahnen und Slogans, die Verunglimpfung der Ukraine, mindestens eine Flagge der rechtsextremen und islamfeindlichen German Defence League, rechte Hetze auf Plakaten, Compact-Anhänger oder der rechte Sender AUF1 mit Martin Müller-Mertens, der zuvor bei beim rechtsextremen Compact-Magazin gearbeitet hatte - und mittendrin Pseudo-Friedensbewegte, die Kritiker von Putin als Kriegstreiber bezichtigten, die angeklagt gehören.
Nachdem die Handwerkerkundgebung nach einer Stunde und teils im strömenden Regen beendet war, versuchten diese zur Friedenskundgebung der FRIKO zu gelangen. Das "linke" Coop-Cafe ("Anti-War Cafe", "antikriegTV", "Berlin gegen den Krieg" des Heinrich Bücker) warb am 28. September 2022 auf facebook.com/coopcafe.berlin für die quasi Compact-Veranstaltung der Handwerker (mit Verlinkung der Petition auf dem Blog) und er rief dazu auf, im Anschluss sich der FRIKO anzuschließen. Auch das: ist Querfrontarbeit "von links".
Die Polizei kesselte die rechte Kundgebung allerdings in Richtung Neptunbrunnen, wo die FRIKO ihre Veranstaltung beginnen ließ. Nichts desto trotz gelangten natürlich trotzdem Teilnehmer der rechten Kundgebung zur "linken" Friedenskundgebung der FRIKO.
Zuvor aber mussten diese Teilnehmer noch an der Antiverschwurbtelten Aktion vorbei, die dort mit einem Schild: "Schwerter zu Flugscheiben" (angelehnt an die Verschwörungserzählung der Reichsflugscheiben) einen kleinen Gegenprotest formierten und doch einige Gemüter erhitzen ließen.
Bei der FRIKO versammelte sich nun überspitzt geschrieben: ein Flaggenmeer aus Freie Linken-Fahnen und der Partei dieBasis. Deswegen überspitzt geschrieben, weil es unübersehbar war. Ein Banner vom "Zentrum Automobil" konnte ungestört am Neptunbrunnen sichtbar zur Bühne der FRIKO hin posieren, bis es kurzzeitig zu einem kleinen aber lauten Verbalaustausch kam, der aber nicht sehr überzeugend auf mich wirkte.
Und auch bei der FRIKO richtete man sich in gewohnter Manier pauschal gegen den Westen, es wurde dort ebenfalls für "Frieden mit Russland" geworben und der Angriffskrieg auf die Ukraine wurde als Propaganda der Nato und der USA abgetan.
Vor einem Zusammengehen beider Versammlungen war vorab breit gewarnt worden, zumal beide in unmittelbarerer räumlicher Nähe zueinander geplant wurden.
Die FRIKO Berlin unternahm jedoch vorab nichts, um das zu verhindern. Im Gegenteil: sie machten später die Polizei dafür verantwortlich, das diese die Handwerkerteilnehmer nicht der FRIKO-Kundgebung verwiesen hätten (Videostream). Das allerdings ist immer Aufgabe und Verantwortung des Veranstalters selbst.
