Design Interactions RCA Show 2
This project is a preliminary study into the tolerable limits of sharing, manufacturing and interacting with biological data from our bodies. The aesthetics of three spittoons for capturing bodily fluid have been explored.
As genome technologies promote the open sourcing of the human body, could such data participation one day be extended into other forms of biological manufacture? Synthetic biology and nanotechnologies have made it possible to reprogramme cells, but would we be prepared to consider using our bodies to do this?
Two different lines to enter Costco today. I was in the EGG LINE. Wow, they really had it organized so that customers could not "sneak" into the EGG LINE once inside the store. Membership cards were scanned while in the EGG LINE prior to the store opening and prior to getting to the entry door so there was no stopping at the door to scan cards.
As we meandered through the store there were employees who would periodically stop the egg line to let cross traffic (those shopping for items other than eggs) pass by. To prevent people from trying to enter the egg line inside the store, pallets of merchandise were placed at the far end of each aisle as a barricade. If I had wanted to get out of the egg line it would have been difficult!!!
