The second annual HR Conclave was organized by Nehru Group of Institutions which was attended by industry experts from the HR world as well as academicians. The two day event was conducted at Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology on 7th September 2018 and at Nehru Institute of Engineering on 8th September 2018.
Industrial experts from the field of HR such as Brakes India Ltd., Renault Nissan, Fosroc Chemicals, 8K Miles Pvt. Ltd, Circor Technologies, Atlas Healthcare Software India, Velan Valve, MAK Controls, Indoshell Casting, Precot Meridian & NDOT Technologies participated.
The event was presided over by Dr. P. Krishnakumar, CEO and Secretary of Nehru Group of Institutions. The Principals, Dean, Directors, Head of Department and staff along with students of both final and pre-final years attended the conclave. The event was coordinated by NCPIR team of NGI.

Georgia remains a committed ally of the EU in the region and dedicated security partner, Georgia Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili addressed the 5th Summit of the Eastern Partnership in Brussels.
The Prime Minister spoke about Georgia's ongoing reforms and the potential of the Eastern Partnership.
"[European] values have shaped resolute domestic agenda for us to reform and modernize Georgia, to build a functioning democratic state in our part of the world," Giorgi Kvirikashvili emphasized.
The Prime Minister underscored the EU aspirations of the Georgian citizens as one of the defining factors of the country's democratic consolidation. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, in his speech, also pointed out the Eastern Partnership's potential, stating that the summit is an opportunity both to assess achievements and success and to plan further steps.
In his address, the Prime Minister also covered Georgia's implemented reforms focusing on greater progress and practical deliverables.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili informed the summit's participants of the security challenges facing the country, the state of affairs in the occupied territories, and the role of the EU in the peaceful conflict resolution.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili reaffirmed Georgia's commitment to continuing its contribution to EU security and emphasized that Georgia, despite its challenges and obstacles, does and will continue its path toward European integration.

Yesterday, an engineering student from Trivandrum committed suicide, because she had no money to pay her college and hostel fee. It was quite shocking. The situation in my country is such that poor people, even though they get good marks, are denied higher education due to lack of money. The girl who committed suicide (she jumped from the top of a seven storied building) was academically brilliant. She had approached a bank for a student loan, but was denied loan, as she had not enough property to give the bank as guarantee.
Su called me up in the morning to tell me this news. I had not read the newspaper, when she told me this. She said that she herself was getting nervous, thinking of what she will do when it is time for her son's college education. Her sister in law just paid 25000 for her daughter for a seat for M.A literature. I wonder why people pay for a literature seat? Its not like she is going to be offered a job after her M.A.literature. I mean, at least if it was for a job oriented course, then you can say, fine. But this is absurd, and then you have to spend money again to get the girl married.
Last night, I went to my in-law's place. Amma asked me whether I knew that Sandhya had shifted to her new home, and whether I had visited her. I said yes, I had heard about her house shifting, but no, I definitely don't have any plans to visit her. I have never seen a more ungrateful person in my life, I told Amma. She has just used me and thrown me away.

Laureate from an Islamic country and the first of Pakistani birth. Founder of the Theoretical Physics Group at
Imperial on his appointment in 1957, Salam was the first Asian to hold a Professorship at any UK university.
Salam pioneered the study of symmetries and unification. In 1967 he incorporated the Higgs mechanism,
codiscovered by his Imperial colleague Tom Kibble, into a unified electroweak theory, a breakthrough that
led to his Nobel Prize in 1979.
Profoundly committed to the betterment of science and education in the developing world, he established the
International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste with the support of UNESCO, dedicated to fostering
the careers of scientists from developing countries and international scientific advocacy and cooperation.
Salam retained his position at Imperial throughout his life, doing foundational work on the unification of all the
fundamental forces of nature. His scientific legacy at Imperial continues today in the world leading theoretical
physics group that he created.

The NDP has committed to creating a healthy, clean environment for Nova Scotians now and in to the future. Together, we have implemented new measures to increase the use of cleaner energy and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by the creation of the Community Feed In Tariff Program (COMFIT) , supporting Solar City, and Efficiency Nova Scotia programming.
We have an obligation to future generations of Nova Scotians to reduce our carbon footprint. That’s why Nova Scotia committed to reduce our GHG emissions by more than 50% by 2030. To do that, we must stop relying on the old coal plants of the past and invest in renewable energy sources like hydro electric, wind, and tidal.
The Maritime Link will help us get there. Once fully developed, the Lower Churchill Project will reduce greenhouse gas emissions to a level equivalent to taking 3.2 million cars off the road each and every year.

The High Ambition Coalition to End Plastic Pollution is committed to develop an ambitious international legally binding instrument based on a comprehensive and circular approach that ensures urgent action and effective interventions along the full lifecycle of plastics.
Our common ambition is to end plastic pollution by 2040. At the outset of the plastic treaty negotiations, we have outlined three strategic goals and seven key deliverables for success in this regard.
The Parks and Wildlife Commission is committed to ensuring our parks and reserves are family friendly and can be enjoyed by all visitors. We encourage and welcome people to use our parks for recreation, tourism, activities / events and social interactions.
In recent times, there have been incidents of inappropriate and antisocial behaviour at several of our parks. These few individuals effectively ruin the experience for everyone else. To overcome this, the Commission will be working with the NT Police to reduce these occurrences to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our parks for all visitors.
During the Easter long weekend and Anzac Day, the Commission and the NT Police will be conducting more frequent patrols of popular sites to reduce antisocial behaviour and to protect the safety and enjoyment of all park users. Visitors to parks and reserves are asked to consider others while at the park.
In addition, the Commission reminds visitors that glass cannot be taken within 10 metres of the water’s edge, so we encourage visitors to bring alternative containers, if they wish to enjoy a drink whilst sitting in or near the water.
The Commission encourages everyone to visit our parks and have a good time, but we ask that visitors remember that parks are family friendly environments – and we will continue to work hard to ensure that families can safely visit our parks.
The Okanagan Wine Region is definitely one of North America's up & coming, if not already well-known, destination for #winelover travellers of all kind. I simply loved my time here, learning more about the bold, committed and ever so innovative spirit of many of the region's producers, resulting in an astounding number of 86 varietals grown across "just" 11.000 hectares, on an area that covers micro-climates from cool lakeside, mountain-shielded vineyards all the way to semi-desert like, blazing hot plains .. Just as varied as the Okanagan are the flavours and fruits grown here. WOW. Honoured to be a part of this world now, with a great desire to come back anytime soon !!!

I have been thinking a lot about the ways in which we try to find what we seek - I said something about it in the post for Lent 12. When we become disillusioned with the source of our self-worth, security and significance, rather than recognising that source as the true place of satisfaction, we look elsewhere. We decide that the true cistern is inadequate, and so we make our own out of whatever we can find that holds together. Inevitably our cistern will have cracks in it and the water will escape, so we try to plug the holes with more of the same shoddy clay, or search for a new substance. The longer we keep trying to use this cistern, the bigger the cracks will become and the less water we will be able to carry - the building materials of our cisterns become less and less satisfying.
What, then, is our reaction? Very often we just keep on going back to the source of the materials from which we made our broken cisterns - we traipse back and forth, more and more wearied, and less and less satisfied until our cistern breaks altogether and we are left with not even a drop of that life-giving water. We collapse, parched and uprooted.
It is often only then that we look deep into ourselves and discover the true source of that life-giving water, so abundant that no cistern can hold it.
Why are we so blinded to how unsatisfactory our sources are? We have this crazy idea that, because something doesn't satisfy fully the first time round, we should try more of it. E.g: The next episode of a series hasn't cheered me up, so I watch another. The first pornographic image I found didn't satisfy my needs, so I find more. That compliment on my new hair didn't make me feel pretty, so I seek out another. The first glass of wine doesn't make me feel less bad about what happened, so I have another. And another. And more.
It is actual madness, this chronic blindness we all suffer from. Whatever it is that we have learnt to use to muffle the sound of our hearts crying out is our broken cistern. I suppose the only thing we can do is to firstly be gentle with ourselves, to ask for and accept God's forgiveness for making our own cisterns, to forgive ourselves for neglecting that cry, and to ask God to point out each dried up source one by one, transferring each root right to the heart of the fountain which is the living water of God's love and grace.
