The typical, conventional nine-to-five work is the most stable and surefire way to earn a decent living—or is it?

Mahendra Moonstar is one of the few who dared to think differently. He abandoned the certainty of an office employment for the chance to explore Indonesia on his own two feet, one island at a time, from Sabang to Merauke.

A bold decision indeed. One that demands a considerable amount of wit, perseverance, and most importantly: commitment.

On World Humanitarian Day, the UN Iraq Renews its Commitment to Relieve the Plight of the Displaced

Baghdad, Erbil, 19 August 2014 – “Today, 19 August, as we remember our fallen colleagues who perished in an attack on the UN Headquarters in Baghdad 11 years ago, we must also pay tribute to the countless national and international humanitarian workers in Iraq who continue to face danger and adversity to bring lifesaving assistance to those in need, and remember their sacrifices”, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Mr. Nickolay Mladenov said.

“More than ever this year, as violence and daily fighting remain sadly widespread, uprooting hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, killing and maiming thousands others, Iraqis count on humanitarian workers for their very survival”, Mr. Mladenov added. “Internally Displaced People are among the most vulnerable”, he noted, underlining that “they are traumatized and frightened, homeless and homesick, struggling for survival and dignity, at risk of gender-based violence”.

“On this occasion, I renew the commitment of the United Nations family in Iraq to redouble efforts to ensure protection and support to those Iraqis seeking refuge within the borders of their own country”, Mr. Mladenov declared, calling on the Government and the humanitarian community to also step up their efforts to alleviate their suffering”.

“Our ongoing work, today, here in Iraq, is the best possible tribute to those who perished eleven years ago, and the best recognition of the humanitarian workers’ contribution to alleviate the suffering of those who had their lives thorn apart.

Our artist's life commitment and dedication to art are immense. It resonates passion, beauty and intensity beyond words. Centred around the concept of creation and the act of creating. Like in religious tradition the one that creates is divine and of divine intention. Strictly focusing on inspiration, symbolism, philosophy, creativity, and imagination.

The double crosses symbolise the void or the abyss.

"If you look long enough into the abyss, the abyss begins to look back through you."

- Friedrich Nietzsche

The abyss is a kind of monster, the monster of complete cynicism and true nihilism - the empty man that post-modernism seems to favour. Pursuing an utter lack of beauty, life values and aesthetics leaves one empty, and perhaps incapable of recovering one's artistic nature. 'Arte Divina' greatly values beauty as an essential virtue of art. The double cross is a symbol that rebels against the apathy and the defeatist culture and post-modernism gave birth to this trend. When I was at University studying art and design we were taught how to deconstruct and to break down values, leaving no room for aesthetics or emotions with no appreciation for beauty.

"In an age of ugliness, a work of beauty is an act of defiance"

- Sir Roger Scruton
