Commitment

It comes with strings – It comes with expectations – It comes with hope – It makes me nervous…

I fear the anchor that comes with a promise. Not being able to follow through. I fear that as I grow, priorities will change, character will shift, and a bridge of trust may be burned.

I commit to pour my heart into this work, to use it as a crowbar to leverage closed doors in my journey towards freedom and love. I will explore openly – and share everything from dark violence to blinding love. I will be deliberate, spontaneous, and flawed only bound by the guiding lines of growth and honesty. This is more for me than it is for you – to teach, I must know. To lead, I must be worthy. Right now I am not.

The door to my heart must be opened. My life practice has recently taken a shift from talk, to work. Recently humbled by an of the power. Awareness of detail has emerged. May this work become flames, to burn away my hypocrisy – the inconsistency of my values.

I have found it to be absolutely true, that what you give is what you get back.

So I will give my soul – in hope for its return.

In Grateful Service,

Skyler
