To light the way through Holy Week....my latest commissioned work, celebrating the mission of evangelisation of Holy Innocents' Catholic Church, Orpington, Kent.
A blessing, I was given the freedom to depict the faith of the church - and knew, almost instantaneously, that, through my painting with prayers, Jesus, Our Lady and the Holy Spirit would emerge.
In January I travelled to Orpington to view the contemporary 1970s designed church to take photographs and make drawings on location to inspire my painting; completed in February. I like to reach the heart and spirit.
The original oil painting is due to be presented to the church this month, appropriately enough during what are the 50 days of Easter.
Deep gratitude to devout parishioner and professional football choreographer Mike Delaney who made this commission possible; and the belief in my work of the parish priest Fr Victor Vella and members of the church.

How and NOSM, AKA Davide and Raoul Perre are the latest artists commissioned to paint a huge (184 foot by 60 foot) mural in Detroit. Their work is located on the back of One Campus Martius, just around a corner from the huge Obey/Shepard Fairey piece installed in 2015.
At the time of this picture, they were five days into the process.

I Lift My Lamp Beside the Golden Door by Dorothy Iannone. Located on The High Line, 22nd Street, Manhattan, NYC. Iannone's mural features three psychedelic Statues of Liberty, between whol run the final line from Emma Lazarus's poem "The New Colossus," whose ode ro Lady Liberty and the freedom promised by immigration to America is engraved on a bronze plaque mounted inside the statue of at Liberty Island.

Development & Culture's Mural Project, commissioned
artists Jim Bravo and Emanuel Ciobanica who designed
and painted both murals to highlight the neighbourhood's
proximity to the lake and its historical importance in the
community. These murals were created with support from
Protek Paints and Yasmin Virani.
Morning Ice Harvest on the Humber honours those
who gathered ice from the Humber River – a necessary
commodity in the days before air conditioning and
refrigeration. Both murals were painted in 2012."

"Located at 4959 Dundas Street West, is this Village of Islington mural titled Timeline, Islington Then and Now by John Kuna, 2006. The accompanying plaque for this mural says:
At that time, flowering catalpa trees graced the south side of Dundas Street stretching from Mimico Creek to Cordova Avenue. They had been planted by Mr. J.D. Evans and lent a quaint yet exotic feel to the village.

The artist, Damian Tab, passed away last week, I am lucky to have captured his work. He is from Tel Aviv, Israel. April, 2022
Memories of peaceful independence in Hong Kong......part of the view of Victoria Harbour Hong Kong and the commissioned painting it inspired in May 2014, from a 23rd floor balcony in Mid-Levels, by expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley.
For the artist, who created the oil painting on location over the course of a day at the beginning of May, the vibrant colours and abstractions are his reality inspired by the spectacular panorama.
To the left of the photograph and interpreted in the painting is the IFC (International Finance Centre) Building, the fourth tallest building in the Greater China region; & the eighth tallest office building in the world.
Stephen B Whatley's major public commissions include architectural paintings commissioned to promote the BBC, Buckingham Palace & the Tower of London - where a Walkway of his series of 30 commissioned paintings welcomes visitors to the Tower, from Tower Hill Station.
