Federal Chamber of Business Economy, former Chamber of Commerce, Trade and Industry

Property ID: 50378 Stubenring (Ring Road) 8-10

Cadastral Community: Inner City. The former Chamber of Commerce was built 1905-1907 by Ludwig Baumann. It is part of the ensemble around the Georg-Coch square with late historicist and Secessionist forms. It is a freestanding building block with side projections. In high base storey there are basement windows with lead reliefs of Jakob Gruber and Emmerich Alexius Swoboda, the portal has coupled with pilasters Doric columns which end in a running across balcony cornice. The lion reliefs on the pillars stem from E. A. Swoboda and Carl Wollek, the triglyph frieze of Othmar Schimkowitz. At the projections there are Ionic giant half-columns which facing the ring side merge into caryatids (of Schimkowitz). From Schimkowitz stem also the attic sculptures (the prow of a ship with putti and allegorical figures of trade and industry). Also noteworthy is the staircase in Secessionist forms with three-armed staircase with wrought iron railings.

Objekt ID: 50378 Stubenring 8-10

Katastralgemeinde: Innere Stadt.

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second most populous city of the United Arab Emirates and also capital of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the largest of the UAE's seven emirates. Abu Dhabi lies on a T-shaped island jutting into the Persian Gulf from the central western coast. Its focus on oil exports and commerce is reflected by the skyline’s modern towers and shopping megacenters.
