Clerk Hanlon enjoyed serving as the guest speaker at the Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Luncheon on April 18, 2019. It was a wonderful opportunity for local business leaders to learn about the many services the County Clerk's Office offers to them, including the recording of Trade Names, our New Business Guidebook and Property Fraud Alert service. Thank you to MRCC Leaders Sherilyn Przelomski and Tess Elkins for the kind invitation.

In the Lace Market area of Nottingham.
Leaving High Pavement, on the right is Commerce Square. This leads to Kings Court. Beyond that is a cobbled path down the hill (to the left).
Road sign - took it twice (not intended to). Once as we headed into the square, then second time as we headed back into the city centre!
Seamen from the rank-and-file caucus, (at the time seeking recognition as a union under the National Labor Relations Act), pose before meeting with U.S. Commerce Secretary Daniel C. Roper after the Midnight March of the Baltimore Brigade January 18, 1937.
The caucus struck in sympathy with West Coast port workers in the fall of 1936, but the strike was crumbling in Baltimore. Whalen organized a march from Baltimore to Washington January 17-18 to protest provisions of the Copeland Safety at Sea Act that would have permitted sea captains to blacklist sailors.
The strike ended shortly afterwards, but the strike and march cemented the rank-and-file caucus as the leaders on the waterfront. They also won wage concessions, stopped the blacklist and later supplanted the International Seamen’s Union with the newly formed National Maritime Union.
From left to right, seated: Patrick B. Whalen, Al Lannon; Joseph Curran; R.M. Jones; standing, left to right: S. M. Blinken, Ralph Emerson, Paul Rothman. Whalen was the head of the Baltimore group. Lannon had preceded him as a left-wing organizer in Baltimore. Curran was head of the nascent union that was shortly to become the National Maritime Union.

In her first visit to Silicon Valley as Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker discussed the Obama Administration and her department's efforts to spur U.S. economic growth, innovation and competitiveness. The Commerce Department is the lead federal government agency for innovation, digital infrastructure, cyber security, and protection of intellectual property. Its mission is to help American companies with tools to help them grow and hire. Secretary Pritzker was accompanied by key Commerce Department senior officials focusing on innovation and unlocking more government data for business use. Additionally, Linkedin CEO Jeff Weiner, US Representatives Mike Honda & Zoe Lofgren, City of Sunnyvale Mayor Jim Griffith and City of San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and many other Silicon Valley thought leaders and luminaries joined the event at Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, CA. TPC Harding Park - Daly City-Colma Chamber of Commerce Mixer
Welcome to TPC Harding Park
TPC Harding Park, named after avid-golfer and President Warren Harding, opened in 1925. Masterfully designed by golf course architect Willie Watson, of Olympic Club fame, the 163-acre course takes advantage of existing topography, contours and vegetation.
The course’s history is almost as great as the Monterey Cypress Trees that line it. A frequent PGA TOUR stop in the 1960’s, the newly renovated TPC Harding Park is once again attracting big name tours – host to the 2005 World Golf Championship and the 2009 President’s Cup.
Overall view. I would have preferred brown for the main facade color, but those too were running low.
