This area was a training ground for the Commandos during WWII. It was unveiled in 1952. Like much of Scotland, it is an area of forest and mountains. The three soldiers on the monument are looking towards the peak of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK.
I should have pictured the cammo crayon this set came with.

The Commando Memorial is a Category A listed monument in Scotland, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II.
Situated around a mile from Spean Bridge village, it overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle. Unveiled in 1952 by the Queen Mother, it has become one of Scotland's best-known monuments, both as a war memorial and as a tourist attraction offering views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr.

A Garden of Remembrance, which was subsequently added to the site, is used by many surviving World War II Commandos as the designated final resting place for their ashes.It has also been used as a place where many families have scattered ashes and erected tributes to loved ones who belonged to contemporary Commando units and who have died in more recent conflicts such as the Falklands War or in Afghanistan and Iraq.

RMC’s 2This is my second show sheet; it’s about the badge I made for my Graphics class. As you can see on the previous sheet I made two badges in first year graphics. The first: ‘Andy Pandys Soliders’ G1. The second:’Shirley Whirleys Commandos’ G2. This shows a ranking system just like in any forces, there are ranks. I loved this idea. Above you can see my first initial sketch of my idea of the badge and the comparison of the Royal Marine Commandos badge.
