Day 5 - Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge. Have never actually stopped before but it is an impressive scultpture in a commanding position. Actually got quite a good view od Ben Nevis, it wasn't in the cloud for once and there was still snow on the tops.

An Afghan National Army commando from 6th Commando Kandak provides security during a firefight in Gelan district, Ghazni province, Afghanistan, March 22. The ANA commandos conduct counterinsurgency operations throughout Afghanistan to provide stability in the region.

 

Royal Marines of 45 Commando and Swedish Coastal Rangers during a joint Swedish/UK exercise involving raiding a small Swedish island.

 

Royal Marines of X-Ray Company, 45 Commando and 4 Assault Squadron Royal Marines conducted Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) in Sweden.

 

Working alongside the Swedish Coastal Rangers (Kustjägarna) from their Berga Naval Base home, X- Ray Company showcased their strengths on the archipelagic Swedish terrain conducting interoperability training, Live Fire Tactical Training and littoral raiding alongside their Swedish partners. This is the first time the Swedish have taken part in BALTOPS as a member of NATO.

Saturday 12th October 2019, on a damp day, these amazing groups rose to the challenge to raise money for the Royal Marines Charity and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

 

The images are in the order taken, as I followed the obstacle part of the 5K Challenge and returned to the arena.
