...and I'm falling with them.

10,701,000 people in the United States are currently living with some form of cancer; 4,955,000 males, 5,746,000 females. Approximately 1500 people die each day in the United States due to cancer. About 3,400 people are diagnosed with cancer each day in the U.S. The battle against cancer is a tremendous one, but there is something we can do to help. Please, try to educate yourself, and see just what you could do to help those with cancer. This is very important to me, many of my family members and people I know suffer from cancer or have survived with the help of others. There is lots you could do, even being for them every step of the way helps. I have listed other websites below.

Hello! Sorry for the ridiculously late update! Haha, I shot this earlier in the day and I just had a few minutes to edit. I’ve been very busy today; we’re getting ready to head down to the Keys tomorrow! I have to finish packing still! We leave bright and early tomorrow morning because it’s a 6 hour drive down there… Great. So, I thought I’d try to sift through those contact notifications I’ve been putting off. I haven’t touched them since before my last post. Also, sorry for the lack of updates, I’ve been doing a lot lately to earn extra money for a new camera and Photoshop. I’m almost there with the camera, just two hundred dollars more! Woo!

Meet my dog Speeder! We had to drop her off at the boarders "Barkingham Palace." At least she's going to be pampered. It was very sad rthe leave her. She didn't want to go at all, she was trying to claw her way back to us. I felt so bad =[

Anyway, I’ve got to go finish packing. We’ll be back sometime next week and there will be massive photo updates! I CAN promise you that. Haha.

Oh, if anyone knows good places to eat down there, let me know!

Thanks to anamariec. for the cancer cause. Her idea was the inspiration for my photo.

Sometimes a title is just a title:)

The so called simple subjects seem to be the hardest ones for me. These pencils behaved like divas. I'm learning a lot, I hope.

I thought this would be easy but I soon realised that not all cheap coloured pencils are manufactured equally.

The little snail was triumphant when she became top of her class - now her future at art college is looking very promising indeed. She owes it all to her hard work and determination - and her new set of coloured pencils.

No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

I got the idea for Crazy Tuesday's topic and managed to wangle it into Flickr Friday and Macro Monday. Nice Ferda lot:)

Thanks for all your lovely comments by the way:)

Comments much appreciated on improving this type of macro photography most welcome.

I wanted to give droplets ago again so here I used smaller than normal coloured pencils laid out in a pyramid style with an orange horizontal pencil held up by 3 chocolate discs 'which soon got eaten up'. You have 3 bubbles with the reflection of the coloured pencils reflected in the droplets and the outline of the droplets is the reflection of the droplets hanging from the pencil .

My attempt to get the bubbles evenly apart or of equal size failed, it seems a fine line in the amount you use to create the droplet and quite often would collapse.

To put the size of this image in perspective it takes 11 in length by 6 pencils in depth to fit on a business card of 8.5cm in length and 5.5cm in depth.

It has been awhile since I have done a minimalistic image. I love the simplicity of them and should do them more often.

Thanks for your visit. Take care and have a great weekend!

It's another "Dangle," too, but of course, it wouldn't have crossed my mind to dangle one colourful pencil above another for last week's theme because that's not how it works ;)

I was spoilt for choice this time, which doesn't happen often. In the end, it boiled down to three images (from six), and while we have quite a few pens in the pool for Multicolor, I still picked this one because it is all about the colour, and this image has the most of that.

I did in-camera focus stacking, and the final JPG looked good, so no external Helicon stacking this time. The pencils used for the image are "Koh-i-Noor Hardtmuth Magic" with a nice, colourful marble coating and a multicolor ("Tri-Tone") lead.
