Also part of my Brickworks series, this was taken in a tunnel where the roof had collapsed in this particular section. I was attracted to the light and the subject matter. There are all sorts of places like this where bricks have been piled up precariously and the effect always makes me pause and wonder "why?". I suppose I owe a thanks to the original artist who arranged this composition for me

子供の関係で、新宿のホテルへ一泊してきました。最初の裏口と居酒屋の二枚を除いて、朝の６時から３０分以内ですべて撮影しました。
今回は、子供中心で一泊したので、朝食前にちょっとだけ撮りに出かけました。ホテルの朝食が美味しかったです。:)

“Synopsis”
A Palestinian group from Gaza hacks into North Korea’s cryptocurrency system, stealing hundreds of millions of dollars. Their true goal is not money—but to recreate the lost homeland of Gaza on American soil.
Amid the backdrop of hardline Republican immigration policies and a growing wave of xenophobia, a quiet plan begins to take shape: the gradual collapse of America from within.
During a speech at Madison Square Garden, Republican presidential candidate Justin Bradford is shot. Almost simultaneously in Los Angeles, former president Owen Reed is attacked at a rally for Democratic hopeful Ryan Bennett.
Two assassinations—mirroring one another—ignite a nation’s deepest divide. Yet, against all odds, Justin survives. His blood type is one in 2.5 million: the Bombay Blood Group.
The only person who can donate such blood is Anaya Patel, a community art facilitator working in Brooklyn. Her blood, stored in the Bellevue Hospital Blood Bank, is used for an emergency transfusion that saves the candidate’s life.
Jack Vance, an agent of the U.S. Secret Service, suspects a Gaza-based network behind the attacks. Together with Cameron Bartlett, the FBI Director of the Los Angeles Field Office, and Veronica Reeves, a senior investigator from New York, he begins to uncover a vast conspiracy.
Their investigation leads them to Rafi Gannam, a former architecture student at the Islamic University of Gaza, who has infiltrated redevelopment sites across Los Angeles and New York—embedding C4 explosives deep within beams and structural cores.
His targets: new residential districts where agents of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) live—symbols of “the order America built.”
Veronica urges the President to pursue dialogue to prevent further destruction, but President Grant M. Ranford refuses to listen.
Meanwhile, the recovering Justin and his Democratic rival Ryan appear on national television, calling for unity beyond political divisions.
Their words of reason, however, are drowned out when Grant takes the stage in Iowa, defiantly declaring: “We will never bow to terror.”
Among the crowd, Rafi’s operatives have already taken their positions.
As chaos erupts and the stage collapses, Amir Nasser—once Rafi’s comrade, haunted by the memory of his sister’s death in Gaza—tries desperately to halt the chain of destruction.
But Rafi’s conviction remains unshaken.
Under the twilight beneath the Williamsburg Bridge, amid the city’s fading noise, the two men part ways.
It is the boundary between prayer and vengeance, between hope and nothingness.

Because of my child, I stayed one night at a hotel in Shinjuku. Except for the first two shots—the back entrance and the izakaya—I took everything within 30 minutes, starting at 6:00 a.m.
This time the trip was all about my child, so I only slipped out briefly before breakfast to take a few photos. The hotel breakfast was delicious. :)

北朝鮮の仮想通貨システムをハッキングし、数億ドルを奪取したガザ出身のパレスチナ人グループが、アメリカ合衆国へ密かに潜入する。
彼らの目的は、失われた祖国ガザを、アメリカの地に「復元」することだった。
共和党による強硬な移民政策と、国内にくすぶる排外感情を利用し、アメリカ社会を内側から崩壊させる計画が静かに進行していく。
共和党大統領候補ジャスティン・ブラッドフォードがマディソン・スクエア・ガーデンで演説中に狙撃され、ほぼ同時刻、ロサンゼルスでは前大統領オーウェン・リードもまた、民主党候補ライアン・ベネットの集会で撃たれる。
国家を二分する双方向の暗殺。だが、ジャスティンは奇跡的に生還する。

I sort of accidentally built a wall.
I was tinkering with a tower, and then recalled a flexible wall from mobilefra.me.
I think I have a new favorite thing for terrain. It's really malleable, and the all-gray version looks really nice. If you make it into an asymmetric, organic shape, it's great as a rock facade.
AT-AT for scale.
I flitted about from one idea to another tonight and just as I was getting somewhere the battery died on my camera.
Next purchase a backup battery as this 365 has taken its toll on its life.
Anyway here's some camera rotation with a funky new light source and a tablet exposure of the mandala I drew the other day. If my battery hadn't died there was going to be a nice starburst in the middle but I'll save that for another day.
Off out tomorrow night to wave some lights so a late upload it'll be for me.

Tuesday, 28 April 2020: our temperature this morning is +7C (windchill +5C). Sunrise is at 6:13 am, and sunset is at 8:54 pm. Another beautiful, sunny day.
Like many people, I am posting photos from my archives as I have been basically staying home, away from everyone and everything (apart from food shopping and maybe three or four short drives out of the city over the last few weeks).
I can't add any information about the crisis the whole world is in right now, as Flickr has threatened to terminate my account. This is because I was adding information about the present situation in the descriptions under the photos I am posting from my archives! I still don't understand why this was "wrong" and I have not heard back from Flickr after I sent an Appeal email to them. When I post archive photos, I add the descriptions from previously posted photos, taken on the same outings, to remind myself of where I went and what I saw. Stay safe and well, everyone!

"On 11 July 2019, it turned out to be such a great day, with some much-appreciated sightings. I must have spent about 9 hours driving and almost every inch of my body ached like crazy at the end of it. Total distance driven was 461 km, leaving home at 8:45 am and arriving back home 12 hours later, at 8:45 pm. Now, each summer, I try and do two or three longer (for me) drives, to make sure I don't lose the courage to do this.
Weather-wise, it was a beautiful, sunny day, with plenty of white clouds Unlike when I did this drive in August 2018, there was no smoke from any wildfires, thank goodness.
It was a good day for Hawks, seeing some on the way south and a few on the way home. I did spot one Ferruginous Hawk, but it was perched on a very distant fence post. I'm also wondering if one of the 'hawks' was actually an immature Golden Eagle - seen in photo #4 posted this morning. (NOTE: yes, it was a Golden Eagle!). I saw it from a fair distance and I remember thinking what a large hawk it was. Stopping at an angle in the middle of the road, I managed to get one shot before it took off and a couple just as it was doing so.
A couple of Common Nighthawks also helped make my day. For several years, I had longed to see one of these unusual birds and, finally in 2017, I managed to find four of them. In 2018, I was able to find just one. These birds are 9½ inches from the tip of bill to the tip of tail. Very strange looking birds, and always a thrill to see one.
My actual destination on 11 July 2019 was the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre, near Lethbridge. I know some people feel that photographing birds that are not out in the wild is cheating. I kind of agree, though I think it's fine as long as someone says where a photo was taken.
This Centre is a wonderful place that rehabilitates and releases (whenever possible) various birds of prey - hawks, owls, Bald Eagles, Turkey Vultures, and Golden Eagles. Some of these birds act as Wildlife Ambassadors, too, including educating the public away from the Centre. Sometimes, a bird is used as a foster parent, too.
I love the changing scenery as one drives south, and my drive was timed perfectly to catch the golden Canola fields. Maybe half way, I pulled over to take a few photos of an old barn and there was a truck just pulling away. I thought the guy might have been taking photos, too. We got talking and one of the things we both said was that we had never seen a blue field of Flax Later in my drive, guess what I found : ) Looked beautiful, with blue on one side of the road and a field of yellow Canola on the opposite side.
This was definitely a rewarding day, full of sightings of all kinds. My favourite kind of day!"
Since the collapse of Little Gem in April 2023, service 217 has become a slightly odd offering from Stagecoach and TfGM's side.
With none of the daytime operation of the 217 picked up by tender (which operated between Piccadilly and Ashton hourly), part route 217s are still currently offered by Stagecoach on a pre-existing agreement.
Previously having a service all day (every hour) during the week and on Saturdays, the 217 now only has hourly services at 8-11pm during the week and on Saturdays.
Nothing however has changed on the Sunday (and bank holiday) front, with Stagecoach still operating the TfGM tendered Sunday service between Piccadilly and Droylsden on an hourly basis between 8am and 11pm. This meaning areas served only by the 217 receive a better Sunday service than on any other day during the week.
One would assume these offerings will be withdrawn later down the line, at the first opportunity?
Seen here pictured outside a huge Manchester City fan pub called Mary D's Bar, operating a Sunday 217 service from Droylsden to Piccadilly on Grey Mere Lane in Beswick, is Enviro 400 19418.
You can see hoodoos in various stages of collapse in this photo. Once the underlying supporting material weathers away the cap rock falls/slides to the surface below causing many interesting landforms such as this one. This example is in the North West Bisti area near the Wings.
It is hard to figure out how a barn roof would collapse in this odd manner. I am guessing that it was a construction defect.
There is some nice wood discolouration on this old timer and small trees appear to be growing through the roof from the inside.
A series of photos from a walk up and over Illgill Head in the English Lake District in late April 2022.
In the border area between Inner Mongolia and the northern part of the Manchurian county of Fengning I found a sparse forest with old trees on grassy ground. It was unlike any other forest I had ever seen.
I spent the night in a hotel not far from it. A huge palace in the middle of nowhere, with hundreds of luxury rooms and no human settlement nearby. Of course nobody comes to such a remote place, why should they, so I was the only guest. Understandably, there was only a skeleton crew there, running the business. There was no food to be had, no hot water, and electricity was turned off during the daytime. Jack Nicholson would have felt at home.
I found a few other resorts of similar dimensions in the area, also on the Mongolian side, but none of them in business. Some had apparently been abandoned even before construction had finished. One had a huge gate with proud sculptures, but the roof of the main building had already collapsed.
I have been photographing this old store for years, watching it gradually deteriorate and collapse. I think it is not long for this world now.

The London Bridge is one of the most spectacular natural formations in the Port Campbell National Park.
The arch closest to the shoreline collapsed unexpectedly on 15 January 1990, leaving two tourists stranded on the outer part until they were rescued by a helicopter. Until this time the bridge was joined to the mainland and it was possible to walk out across both arches to the end of a ‘bridge’.

We have, in our infinite wisdom of "super human intelligence", poisoned the water, air and soil globally to the extent that a study in German has discovered a loss of 76% of insect species in the last 30 years.
Without insects the food chain collapses. Not just the human food chain - all food chains!
So what will we call Buddleia in the future?
