The first daffodils of spring battling with the elements, majestic and brave and inspiration for all of us. Nikon, D4S Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens
It’s still cold in the house in the evenings, but I don’t want to turn on the heating before going to bed. That's why I watch TV in a warm jacket - and with two warm companions. My husband took the photo.
Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
Got a busy weekend planned; won't get the chance to be on here until sometime Sunday........will catch up with everybody then.
Have a great weekend, my flickr friends!

A Quiet Return of Winter
A thin layer of snow fell softly, almost unnoticed.
By noon it had already melted, leaving only reflections and a quiet feeling behind.
Winter never rushes here — it returns gently, as if asking whether it may stay a little longer.
And they say… it will come again.
Tihi povratak zime

06.23 am, the sun is rising on a late winter day and the geese are on their morning fly past over my home. All is as it should be.

On these cold nights. A cup of yumminess, hot cocoa & marshmallows.
I couldn’t use my camera while pouring the hot cocoa so used my phone, I did catch the cocoa but it’s supposed to to be a macro so I cropped it out.
Last year on this date my purse was stolen in the tram… and so I remember that It was hot and sunny …and stayed that way right through the Summer.
So far this year we’ve only had cold, wet or snowy weather.
Not exactly complaining… but just saying!!
I took this photo on a New Year’s Day walk on Black Down hill in West Sussex, England. The trees at the top of the hill had remained frosted with ice from the overnight cold, and the scene resembled a winter wonderland. The surrounding fog added to the atmosphere of the scene.
Colorful vibrant beach huts and promenade on the seafront with beautiful cloudy sunset behind. Blyth, Northumberland, UK. British tourism destination.
Grey Squirrel on a decayed log out in the woods. Taken in JPEG so some detail has been lost. Belfairs Wood. Essex wildlife trust.

So, generally I'm not a fan of cropping images to a non-standard sized format. I don't know why, they're digital images and can be any size they want to be since I rarely get them printed out, but still I hesitate and dislike it.
But today's image is one of those that I couldn't resist the crop for. This is how I would have shot it, if I had more than my 40mm with me or the ability to hover. (still working on that)
Since this is how I would have shot it if it were possible, I don't feel terrible about the crop, but still it bugs me. Weird, isn't it?
Anyway, even with the crop I like this shot. Especially knowing it was done very early in the morning without a tripod!
Hope everyone has had a good day.
