We were thrilled when we were on vacation in Ft Bragg to see these beautiful horses come by our condo, and quickly went out to greet them.

The Galapagos land iguana (Conolophus subcristatus) is a species of lizard in the family Iguanidae. It is one of three species of the genus Conolophus. It is endemic to the Galápagos Islands, primarily the islands of Fernandina, Isabela, Santa Cruz, North Seymour, Baltra, and South Plaza.
Land iguanas are primarily herbivorous; however, some individuals have shown that they are opportunistic carnivores supplementing their diet with insects, centipedes and carrion.[2] Because fresh water is scarce on the islands it inhabits, the Galapagos land iguana obtains the majority of its moisture from the prickly-pear cactus that makes up 80% of its diet: fruit, flowers, pads, and even spines. During the rainy season it will drink from available standing pools of water and feast on yellow flowers of the genus Portulaca.
It is estimated that the Galapagos land iguana has a 50 to 60-year lifespan.

This is another lovely lizard in close up within my partners fathers garden. They are within a large open lizard pen with surroundings to match there natural habitat. In fact if I had not said it you would not known if it was its natural habitat or not...?
Probably my favourite animal on earth.
I know it's a crap photo. I had to shoot blindly over a wall at a creature that blends in with the sand :)
Found this grumpy-looking American Toad (Bufo americanus) while inspecting a 2.23 kilometre channelized stretch of the Black Creek. The little guy just sat there, so I used one of my company's point-and-shoot cameras to take this macro. I didn't expect to find wildlife along this unsightly concrete channel, but thankfully, I was proven wrong.
A very sexy American Alligator (Alligator Mississippiensis) poses for me while getting some sun on a trail at Brazos Bend State Park, Texas, USA.
The species of this lizard is unknown, but from the picture it can be assumed that this lizard lives low to the ground in the mountains. it was hard to spot at first with how well it camouflaged itself on this rock. this lizard is coldblooded, so it is probably sitting on this rock to sunbathe and stay warm.
