Chestnut-headed Bee-eater, Merops leschenaulti, Beberek Kepala Coklat
As the name suggests, bee-eaters predominantly eat insects, especially bees, wasps and hornets, which are caught in the air by sorties from an open perch. It is common in Thailand but only occur in northern part of Peninsular Malaysia. Its frequent dry fields, coastal scrubs and open woodlands with scattered trees. This one i got near old tin mine field.

As the name suggests, bee-eaters predominantly eat insects, especially bees, wasps and hornets, which are caught in the air by sorties from an open perch.
This pair is doing 'love feeding', which is common among wild migratory birds. The male is making the female fat, so she can produce better quality eggs in order to get healthy chicks for survivability of next generation. Don't you wish your husband doing that too ? hahahaha

Beberek yang ini hanya dijumpai di kawasan Ipoh ke atas, dan jarang-jarang sekali dijumpai selatan dari Ipoh. Seperti Beberek lain ia makan dengan menyambar mangsanya seperti lebah dan tebuan semasa terbang dari tempat ia bertenggek.
