The inscription “ADLOCVT COH” on Caligula’s coins is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase “Adlocutio Cohortium”. “ADLOCVT COH” translates to “Speech to the Cohorts” in English. This phrase refers to an address given by a Roman emperor, such as #Caligula , to his soldiers or troops, often depicted on coins to commemorate the event.
And there are other Roman coins with inscriptions similar to “ADLOCVT COH.” For example, a sestertius from the reign of #Nero features a similar scene with the inscription “ADLOCVT COH,” depicting Nero addressing soldiers
