Jessa is hanging out and drinking a select Brazilian hot chocolate in Drogo's in downtown Austin.

This is part of a new video tutorial entitled "A World of Textures" that I recently put together. Included is also 100 textures, depending on the package you choose.

Jittery – What about a caffeine shot? Literally… some restriction may apply! LOL

Macro Monday project – 03/22/10

"Restrictions"

my dear flickr friends, how are you? sorry for being absent these days, we are having such a nice summery weather, something that is not so often happens here, especially as early as in May; sun is shining, blue sky, green trees :) being able to go out just in t shirt and shorts makes me happy :) but there is also some garden work that has to be done and what keeps my outside and away from computer :) we have quite a big garden that has been slightly neglected by the previuos owners, so quite a lot has to be done before we can relax and really enjoy it. i am also not finished with painting the walls ;) so my hands are covered with paint stains and with dirt these days :)

the camera is one the four (!) that my mother found to us, i will tell about others later some day, this picture taken in my moms garden, the old chair is one of the cute cute vintage things that she has over the years. the camera one is one of two Smena's that does not work. all belonged to my late father, he was very into photography but, sadly, i havent been able to share the pasion with him. i actually do not remember him taking many photos, but he obviuosly did so, especially when we were small kids. he died of cancer about 11 years ago, being at the age of only 49; very sad and tragic story to our family, especially to my mom, she was never the same again. so sweet of her to keep all these cameras and give to us.

Hope you all have a nice day and the weather is nice where you are. Thank you for commenting and wish you a nice day.

Treats from Heathrow

Having a break, while enjoying the upgrade onboard the Shamrock Heathrow to Dublin.

Flights EI178/179 are currently upgraded from the usual A320 to A330 aircraft sometimes, so a nice treat to sample the giant 330 without having to cross the pond to the United States where the 330's usually operate to.

Its a sight to behold at Heathrow prior to departure all the various trucks arriving with the BA world cargo ULD's, stuffed into the belly of the 330, while the passenger deck may be a tad under utilised, the cargo hold is not.

Thanks to the nice crew down back that evening, 17th November 2021, you know who you are.

Türk kahvesi / Turkish coffee

The Boss with the Boss, plus the obligatory walking around with a coffee, the alfa male no doubt about it.

It was my last coffee of 2010 at Badde Manors on Glebe Point Road, Glebe. Good coffee, relaxing surroundings especially when everyone else was off getting ready for New Year's celebration.

Sometimes I have those moments when i stop dreaming & life becomes so empty . . . life becomes stagnant . . . and then it starts again . . . & . . . I stumble over something again & it starts over . . . when you dream & try it never stops . . . it never stops regardless of age . . . Walt Whitman, Allen Ginsberg, Nelson Mandela . . . do you feel sometimes those men have no age . . . well, that’s because they never stopped dreaming . . .

When i look back today at June of 2000 & in this chaos ask myself would I want it to be that year. Don’t know . . . Something that really became memorable was the performance at the graduation in Brooklyn College when I was plotting to wear a red dress when everyone else was in black / white ... in the end my outfit was black&white but was so inappropriate that my poor show chorus teacher had to take off white curtain and have me perform in that. To be honest I was very happy that my red dress idea failed because it would just break her heart. After that day never again probably till 8 years ago I went back to that kind of style. My style became so conservative that mom had to force to get into dresses again. I love that style on me now in photos. I look at it & think it’s cute. Back then I always wished to have that “Russian girl” look (long skinny legs, straight perfect hair, certain facial characteristics, certain personality) and I could never be that. I always felt as a young teenager I could never be pretty enough for Russian boys in my community. Strange thoughts for guys who were never really my type. Silly things that go through our young heads. And beneath that not so conservative look what people probably would never guess about I’m from very conservative family (especially grandma) and before July of 2000 was not even allowed to hang out with friends after 9:30pm. I spent most of my days as a teenager till senior year in high school at home reading. My mom had to beg my friend to drag me out of the house. Growing up never had any desire to do anything but read. Everything else bored me. Because I rarely separated from my books (even when we did family trips to the park on LI) my mom always called me difficult & eccentric. My extensive knowledge of English & Russian literature goes back to teenage years ... except Walt Whitman & Beat Generation, that something that really hit me in my twenties.

Everything i did as a teenager or young adult is nothing (and I did many things) comparing to messing up in school . . . It started slowly in High School & then continued to almost being kicked out of college after sophomore year. Some of my professors were shocked that at the end of the college career I got scores higher than 4.0 students & could solve patient problems no one else could. My mom keeps saying to this day how someone like that could end being a college drop out. Advice I would give any teenager . . . Whatever happens in life goes except education. Education stays ! This year was not easy (with its ups & downs), but I managed to end it with four A’s. And this like nothing else shows I got out of my “teenage” stage & moved on past my own flaws.

Now I can log off 💛

A little expresso shot for you

Concept Series 2010

(68/365)

been practising the espresso pulling skills with the new hand grinder…

if that isn't one happy dog face, then i don't know what is.

the lovely little mutt's name was Winston, i think. The guy lived in Kent, England and in somewhat close proximity to Winston Churchill's estate, i believe. hence the name. he's been here for a few years now, though.

one thing about me: if i see a dog, a cat, a snake, or anything that is a pet by any stretch of the imagination, while out and about, i am compelled to try pet it and fall a little bit in love as much as possible without being seen as creepy.

another thing about me: i talk to strangers. a lot. i don't embarrass easily. and i'm very talkative and love meeting people. even if for a few minutes. my shy-ish husband is not the biggest fan of this aspect of my personality.

and if i happen to meet someone from the UK, it becomes a personal goal for the next few minutes to decipher where EXACTLY they're from, without them telling me but with a few questions, or just making them speak and trying to decipher the dialect and pin it on a city. it's a fun game for me. probably not so much for them. but i'm like, this ridiculous, sort of sad little Anglophile and it makes me happy. and my enthusiasm tends to carry me into the "endearing" fold instead of "annoying" fold more often than not.

so, put English boy, who, though not from the North (my fave), but also not from London - so bonus points, in my path, paired with a dog, make English boy cute and have a ridiculously stylish girlfriend with him who's also sweet, and clearly we're instant BFFFF's.

this is at a little coffee shop down the street from me on Melrose Ave. i ADORE this wall. it's painted this dark red and cracked and texture-y all on it's own. i have another picture that i used this wall in. sort of by accident (see comments). had my camera with me. a super old point and shoot and i asked if i could take a picture. he assumed i meant Just Dog, but i said, i wanted him too. and his girlfriend. and the dog. they were fun. and interesting. why not?

so he thought it best to pick up Winston and cuddle him for the duration of the few photos i snapped. out of all of them, this was the a cute little moment not exactly meant for the camera, so i liked it best.

he's nuzzling Winston and Winston LOVES it. seriously. that's just unreal contentment on that dogs face.
