I visited Flavours of Lakhoum back in 2004 and had an amazing coffee. It was a long time between visits, but the coffee was just as good and the latte art is incredible.

Ah, the midnight power coffee. Bittersweet. You should have had it at 10 p.m. at the latest, but now you really need it. Your tiredness thanks you now, but your body won't forgive you in the morning.

This was my take for the theme "Coffee" for the Photography Scavenger Hunt. The rules were SOOC. I'm uploading the edited version on Flickr.

Further to coffee break I. Two very different ways of taking a break for a coffee.

There are the many brewing styles now: Dip Brew, Pour Over, Cold Brew, Espresso, Ristretto. Then you have to decide on Espresso or Double Espresso or Red Eye or Black Eye, Americano, Long Black, Macchiato or Long Macchiato, Cortado, Breve, Cappuccino, Flat White, Cafe Latte, Mocha, Vienna, Affogato (does it include a goat?), Cafe au Lait and Iced Coffee.

So you now have great choices but would you like whole milk, skinny milk, soya, almond, coconut, syrups, whipped cream, chocolate, marsh mallows, sprinkles, smarties or after Eight Mints.

I am currently wondering what happened to a simple cup of coffee, when did it get so complicated?

Where the hell is my espresso?

My second one-on-one photoshoot with Amber was at the now-closed Thurston Lodge near Bury St Edmunds, a fantastic old house with more props and space than you knew what to do with. We had a whole morning to explore and make the most of the final opportunity to shoot there!

My elderly neighbor often invites me over for Turkish coffee while we talk. After the coffee is done, there is a design left in the cup from the coffee grounds. You're supposed to look to see what the shapes look like. Mine had globs that are supposed to mean money was coming my way!
