It wasn't as wet, but very windy, so with a power line already down one block from me I took it easy and just went to the nearest coffee shop. Here's hoping for no more hurricanes for rest of coffeeneuring season!

Coffeeneuring #2 of 7
95% of my route was on American Tobacco Trail. Rode to Solite Park, then to Triangle Curling Club (Bad news: my team lost narrowly. Good news: I'm getting better at throwing stones), then home. Wonderful way to spend a beautiful Sunday.

Tues Oct 6: A 58 mile round-trip ride to Warrior Rock Lighthouse on the northern tip of Sauvie Island. There I made coffee to enjoy.
Thursday October 15th was truly a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the temperature mild (about 62F/17C), the breeze gentle. We loaded our three speeds and headed from our campsite (which is a bit inland) to Benson Beach. With a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and of Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, we laid down a picnic blanket and I started the kettle on my Trangia 27 alcohol stove. We had some ground coffee from Stoked Roasters in Hood River and prepared it with the tried and true method: pour over.
We spent some time hanging out on the beach on this lovely day. Emee figured out that the sand nearest the water was pretty packed, packed enough even for the skinny-ish 26″ x 1 3/8″ tires of British three speeds! We rode south on the beach for a bit, then turned back inland and headed back to the cabin. It was a nice 4.5 mile

Decided to do another coffee without walls but at Duke Gardens. Couldn't have picked a better ride- a coffee shop would have been nice but it was so nice to see beauty around me on such a beautiful day. Also equally wonderful: combining three of my interests: coffee, biking, and gardens (and a fourth: photography). So with a flourish, this ends the 2015 coffeeneuring challenge, though I doubt I'll ever stop coffeeneuring.
