So it's snowing this morning and it snowed last night. I'm in upstate NY right now...and even though it's kinda pretty with the snow...where the fuck is Spring already??
We came up for the night for husband's gig. My inlaws have a house upstate which is really comfy. And I stayed there while husband played. He got back late. Didn't even hear him when he snuck into the bed next to me.
There are times when people (and sometimes it's people who don't know me well and are being fucking nosy) ask me about how husband makes his money and how he supports us and if I'm "ok with that". I hate it and generally don't bother answering. But truth of the matter is...I wish I didn't feel like I WANT to explain and defend...explain to them that he is a good musician and no he didn't just pick it up and he's been playing music for 30 years and he did go to college and he's not just dicking around with the music thing like its some garage band with his buddies. He's good. And he isn't doing it for money or to get famous or any of that shit. And yes he actually does make money and how much he makes is none of anyone's goddamn business!
But no one gets that. Except the non-musician wives or girlfriends of my husband's musician friends. Maybe we should form a support group lol.
And then sometimes people give me this look like, "poor thing". Like it's a bad thing that I support him and his dreams -- whether financially or emotionally or however he needs me to support him.
Thing is...he does pull his weight in other ways that compliment my contributions to our partnership. And that's what makes it work.
I will admit though... It isn't always easy. And it looks like we might have car problems right now. And it's making me pretty anxious about how we are gonna pay for all this shit.
But in the meantime...I'm gonna enjoy this cup...and relax in the moment. Because, all things considered, things could be worse....
Cait's returned from NYC so she came down to Buffalo yesterday and i brought her around to some nifty places to shoot. Afterwards she got her Spot fix (specifically the cocomoco) and we shot this. This is where it gets a little complicated.
She shot a polaroid of me with her SX-70 camera, then held the polaroid in her hand while i shot her through the viewfinder of her Kodak Brownie TLR (who she named double-fudge). So i'm in there if you look closely. albeit the print came out a little funky, sadly it was her last shot. i gotta go back to Rochester and get her another pack of film.

i went out to breakfast with my friend tonja today :) we went to this place called "The Original Pancake House" and ohhh myyy gooosshhhhhhh! It was amazing!!!
the coffee was super yummy too!!! we had bacon, eggs, and shared some pancakes (pumpkin pancakes, and chocolate chip pancakes served with fresh whipped cream and tons of chocolate chips!!!)
it was pretty much amazing, and we're making a monthly tradition out of it.

been SUPER busy catching up on all of the freelancing I've been doing, but I'm glad to say that I'm finally all caught up with photos!!! YAY!
I had a maternity shoot today and it went GREAT! I'm so excited to edit the pictures, I'll probably have them done tomorrow, lol.
Look for tons of updates soon, because i have a bajillion photos to post!
