Took the day off work and only managed to sneak a few emails in and a little bit of marking today and spent the rest with the kids.

Went swimming this afternoon and watched them race each other on the inflatable assault course across the pool, with the occasional falling off and into the water.

This evening my son decided to have a bash at a Python project to get the Sense Hat running using the LED's as a monitor for humidity in the house and did pretty well.

Tomorrow he wants to code a security camera. Big brother is watching!

Lockheed C-130K Hercules C.1/C.3 XV212/212 was built as a C-130K Hercules C.1 in 1967, It appeared in the first camouflage scheme to be applied to a Hercules C.1, and entered front-line service in October 1967. As one of thirty of the original batch of Hercules C.1s, XV212 was subsequently given a stretched fuselage, by the insertion of two plugs in the fore and aft sections of the fuselage. The work was done at Marshalls of Cambridge; the aircraft then being designated as a C.3. The aircraft is an asset of the Lyneham Transport Wing.

A medical simulation mannequin rests (SimMan from Laerdal) between workshops in the Simulation Center at St. George's University.

On this particular weekend the University was hosting an outreach workshop, inviting physicians from Grenada's General Hospital to brush up on their Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) skills. The University's inventory of SimMan technology allows for evidence-based case scenarios programmed, controlled, and monitored via wireless connection to play out complex emergencies.

SimMan has a long list of tricks up his sleeve... He speaks, has palpable pulses, reactive pupils, and can blink. He can cough, convulse, and cry liquid tears. You can start an IV, watch his chest rise and fall, hear breath sounds and heart rhythms. He can bleed, be defibrillated, catheterized, and more.

But somehow, as impressive as they are, I still can't shake that strange feeling of being all alone alone and surrounded a dozen blinking, breathing mannequins.
