This is a 1:18 model of a Met Police BMW 5 Series ARV. The model comes in the factory paint colour of silver. It comes with the full Met Police livery, including side markings, yellow ARV dots, black dot for fuel, area codes, rear yellow/orange chevrons, POLICE wording and blue roof codes. The model also comes with a one of lightbar which looks identical to the real thing on Met ARVs the lightbar is ready for fitting of working LEDS (I will tell the winning bidder where to get these). The van also comes with new "2008" plate numberplates as well as markings that are similar to silk screen printed quality. This would be a very unusual addition to anyone who collects police/999 vehicles or someone who collects model BMW vehicles.

This is the roof of the main analysts' building, which once hosted a myriad of computers and other technological equipment to assist with the filtering of radio signals. Positioned behind this area was the British section of Teufelsberg.
The spy station was part of the global Echelon intelligence gathering network created to monitor the military and diplomatic communications of the Soviet Union and its Eastern Bloc allies during the Cold War. It was located in the British Sector, but the Brits and Americans didn't trust each other. So they split up the area in two, built everything twice and double-eavesdropped on their enemies.
A recent trend among urban graffiti artists has been the creation of images which can be identified from satellite and aerial imagery firms such as Google Earth. Here, you can even see a painted "QR Code" which will take you to an informational website if you scan it with a mobile phone.

The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.
hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.

Transall C-160R R208, code 64-GH (cn 211), French Air Force (Armée de l'air) ET00.064 arriving at a wet Fairford UK (FFD) to participate in the static of RIAT 2015 (photo 4344-1).
The Transall C-160 (often C.160 or simply Transall) is a military transport aircraft, designed and produced as a joint venture between France and Germany, Transall being an abbreviation of the specially formed consortium Transporter Allianz, comprising the companies of MBB, Aerospatiale and VFW-Fokker. It was initially developed to meet the requirements for a modern cargo aircraft for the French and German Air Forces; export sales were also made to South Africa and to Turkey, as well as a small number to civilian operators. One prototype was built by each of the production partners, with the first (built by Nord) flying on 25 May 1963, with the VFW and HFB-built prototypes following on 25 May 1963 and 19 February 1964. These were followed by six pre-production examples, stretched by 51 centimeters (20 inch) compared with the prototypes, which flew between 1965 and 1966.
The C-160 proved to be a long-lasting design, remaining in service more than 50 years after the type's first flight in 1963. It has provided logistical support to a number of overseas operations and deployments; and has also served in specialist roles such as an aerial refueling tanker, electronic intelligence and communications platform. The C-160 will be replaced in French and German service by the Airbus A400M Atlas.
The C-160R:
From 1994 to 1999, all French C-160s underwent an avionics upgrade and the addition of new anti-missile countermeasures. The C-160Fs and NGs so updated were redesignated C-160R (Renové—"renovated"). The French Air Force currently (end of 2015) still operates 31 C-160Rs.

Equilibrium, the Human Mashup. The show's goal was to ask "How can art and technology and the synergy of the two address humanity's next evolutionary step?". Being a staunch singularitarian this was right up, or is it down, my proverbial alley. I built an application that allows a user to take a self portrait photograph and then draw themselves on a wall simply by using and moving their hand. The premise was to use the human as the sole interface to draw themselves, exploring the convergence of man and technology. A one day only installation, I didn't have to high of hopes for it's exposure. On the flip side, this being my first showing ever I was like a greedy 8 year old on Christmas morning, and extremely anxious to see how people would interact and respond to the installation. The methodology of controlling an interface without the normal peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard, touch screen, kiosk, or otherwise was foreign to all that attended. What transpired blew me away. The attendance, response and exposure far exceeded my hopes. I barely had to explain at all to users how to run the application. People just stepped right up to the installation and began to interact with it. They were actually learning on their own while performing the drawing. People were actually converging with the technology. Furthermore, those that were done performing their drawing became evangelists, telling those who followed them their idea of how best to use the application. At that moment it became cemented in my mind that I had succeeded in my experiment. People had invested themselves in the piece to the point of bringing out their own inner artist. Several times I stepped in to 'coach' people on how to get the most out of the motion detection while drawing their portrait. The response I got was unexpected. People took personal offense that I was pushing my artistic ideas on their own drawing. Again, success. I was also sent to the floor several times by attendees who said they had come to the event specifically to see my work which they had been following online. There were even several people who mentioned that they had hooked my work up to projectors at parties they were holding. Wha?! Seriously, amazed.
I'd like to thank several people for the night. Steve Benoit for all his help with testing the application, videography and film editing of the event. The result is the shweet movie posted above. Rachel Kjack and Adrienne Fritze from SAO and Working Artists Online respectively for their organization and inviting me to submit my work. All that attended, I met some inspirational folk. And finally, my wife Lisa for her unending support and diggin' me even when I have late night dreaded 'code eyes'.
Looking forward to the next event.

Finding the best beauty spa near you may not be an easy task after all. With so many spas functioning in the area, what should you look for in a quality spa? The spa you select should provide the right environment for you at all times. Here are important tips to consider when finding the best beauty spa near you.
Googling it is the easiest way to find a reputable day spa near you. Type in spas and your zip code or town name at the end of it see the results that come up in the search results. Owner of Lisa’s Day Spa in Chula Vista, says, check the websites of the resultant spas and see what kind of skin care treatments they offer and the prices. Does it fit your budget and style? Read client reviews and testimonials to find out whether other people really like the quality of service they offer. If you like what you see and read, give them a call. Is the staff knowledgeable and helpful? Make sure to ask for a tour of the facility before you make an appointment. Especially, check the locker room, and you can get a better idea about the safety, maintenance, and sanitary status of the spa. If you find hair in the wash basin or drain, it is a big no-no. Never select a beauty spa that doesn’t provide the highest sanitary conditions at all times.
Most of the time, treatment rooms might be off limits to clients. But you can always request them to show you the condition of a room. Observe how the other clients are treated to get a better understanding of the experience you are going to have. Once you are really satisfied with all the aforementioned factors, only you should think of making a reservation with the potential beauty spa.
Here are some of the best methods of picking the right spa near you. If you have a personal recommendation from someone you trust, you should always go to such a spa. These people have already experienced the quality of treatment offered by the spa and their recommendation counts a lot. The price of the treatment may depend on the style, quality, and duration of the treatment. Compare prices of different spas near you before you decide on what’s best for you. This way you can easily find a reputable and experienced beauty spa near you.
The skills and experience of the staff are extremely important when picking the right spa near you. In fact, a skilled and experienced therapist can put you at ease from the start. Some people can be more gifted than others. You need to pick the right therapist to perform the treatment.
In conclusion, with numerous beauty spas near you, how are you going to pick the right one? There are many things to look for when selecting the right spa. Your research is quite important when finding the best beauty spa near you. You can make an informed decision under such circumstances.

for 7DoS: the barcodes in supermarkets aren't just used to keep control of stock and prices anymore, I use them to buy my shopping ... so sneaking a photo is pretty easy, as I have it in my hand zapping barcodes along the way.
It's a shame my supermarket hasn't quite mastered the technology regarding stock control, as the empty shelf was were the eggs I wanted, should have been :(
Protesting against the use of drones and the use of torture, these are members of Code Pink, photographed on January 12, 2013, at a demonstration outside one of the entrances to the headquarters of the CIA, in McLean, Virginia. On the left is Lachelle Roddy, and on the right is Nancy Mancias, the coordinator for Code Pink's War Criminals and Ground the Drones campaigns. The event also involved Episcopal Peace Fellowship DC, Northern Virginians for Peace & Justice, Pax Christi and World Can’t Wait, and activists from the group Witness Against Torture, protesting about the ongoing existence of Guantánamo, the day after the 11th anniversary of the prison's opening.

I thought Source Code was a pretty slick thriller and decided to attempt a version of the poster.
I went with more of a minimalistic teaser version of the poster so as to try and draw the viewer in.
You can check it out on my blog www.juusmedia.com
The card is shaped differently so that a blind user can feel the text braille instructions, a low vision user can read the important information in high contrast & because of the bump, blind users can use the QR codes to know which corner of the card to scan. Notice the ridge around the QR code in the bottom right. It's brilliant! The second side is in small text.

Jaina Lefevre: Hi Moms!
Debra Charron: "Hiyas sweetie"
Deets Carroll: hey kiddo! Have a good day?
Jaina Lefevre shrugs. 'It's okay." She looks over at Deb. "Today's it, right?"
Debra Charron nods as she removes some civilian clothes from her closet and begins to dress, "Yes Starfish, its supposed to be very soon now"
Jaina Lefevre looks at Deb. "I'm coming to watch, okay? I want to see you kick his ...butt." she looks down at herself. "I should put on pants maybe?"
Debra Charron nods and smiles as she slips on her oldest jacket and reaches for the gunbelt, "The little beach is pretty grimy - pants would be a great idea"
Deets Carroll nods to Jaina. "It's today." She reaches under the bed and pulls out a heavy trunk. "Pants might be warmer." She opens the trunk and begins to dress as well.
Jaina Lefevre goes to find pants and pulls them on, taking her skirt off. "Anything else I can do? Like, borrow a gun?"
Deets Carroll finishes braiding her hair and glares at the child. "You and your slingshot are what started this mess. I don't think giving you a gun is the wisest move.
Debra Charron smiles at Jania and kneels down to give her a hug, "Sweetie, the idea is that just Tres and I have guns - to settle this. This way we don't have to make a war and get lotsa other people fight"
Jaina Lefevre narrows her eyes at Deets. "IT was NOT my fault. Don't blame me. I thought it was, but it wasn't. He was told to get me when Assbrink saw me on the camera. He /told/ me that."
Jaina Lefevre turns and wraps her arms around Deb and whispers. "Don't you let him hurt you, Mommy. He's a pansy."
Deets Carroll gazes into her trunk trying to choose between a sniper rifle or the combat shotgun, and finally chooses the shotgun.
Debra Charron hugs Jania and struggles with how much reality she needs to make the child aware of, ultimately deciding that the event itself will be eye-opening enough. "Starfish, I love you. Tres has needed taking-down for a long time, so if this hadn't happened it'd just be over something else"
Debra Charron flips open her cell and makes a quick call
Jaina Lefevre kisses her cheeks and hugs her tight. "Well, tell Mom that because it's NOT my FAULT!"
Deets Carroll slips on her shades and straightens, shrugging to get the heavy vest to sit comfortably. She sighs, and crouches to the child's level. "I know it's not your fault, Jaina. I shouldn't have said that. We're all just a little on edge." She offers an armored hug.
Jaina Lefevre goes to hug Deets. "Don't say those thiings. That's not nice. We gotta be there for Moms so she can win."
Deets Carroll smiles, and hugs the child close. "You can cheer for her. Get your friends, too." She releases the girl and stands.
Debra Charron extracts her USP from its holster and carefully examines it, checking its function, sights and heft. She ejects the magazine and inserts a fresh one, locking it in place before returning the weapon to its holster
Debra Charron looks at the clock over the bed, "Well - we'd better get down there. I'd hate to be late for my own duel." Deb hugs Jania again and whispers, "I love you Starfish" before releasing her and turning to Deets. Deb smiles and gives her an awkward hug over her tactical vest, "I love you too Deets"
Jaina Lefevre slips a little ribbon dolly into Deb's pocket. Hair ribbons and knots. "IT's a good luck charm. Everyone hasta have those."
Deets Carroll smiles and returns Deb's hug. "Just kick his ass."
Jaina Lefevre is ready to go, and holds Deb's hand a moment or two before letting her go.
Deets Carroll checks the time. "I should get down and check the place out. I'll see you soon."

Vodafone has announced plans to provide coding training to 1,000 teenage girls across 26 countries in what is the world’s furthest-reaching in-person global coding programme of its kind. The commitment was announced in advance of @WomenScienceDay. Vodafone is partnering with @CodeFirstGirls to address widening gender gap in STEM.
For many years, women and girls have played an important role in science and technology. Without the work of technology pioneers like Hedy Lamarr and Barbara Liskov, we would not have Wi-Fi and email as we know it. But despite this, women and girls are still grossly under-represented in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) education and careers. Only 35% of girls enter further education in STEM subjects, and many have little encouragement to equip themselves with the skills to thrive in these industries.
Vodafone wants to help change this. In a partnership with social enterprise Code First: Girls, Vodafone’s #CodeLikeAGirl programme will provide five-day, coding workshops for girls, ages 14-18, across its geographical footprint in Europe, India, the Middle East, South Africa and Australasia. In 2017, 500 girls across Vodafone’s 26 markets were taught to code as part of the Vodafone and Code First: Girls partnership. This year, 1,000 teenage girls will benefit from the programme.
