The morning fog together with the rising sun over the forests of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains send me a message in the form of a bar code.
To my great regret, I am unable to decipher this code and so I can only stand there in awe at the sight and guess what the message could possibly mean.
It could be a simple "Good morning hiker" or a call for help (since there was a severe fire in the area recently, that would not be so improbable).
But maybe it was just an invitation to stop and really see. To see and feel the wonders that surround us every day. Appreciating them and preserving them and showing them to other people.
If that was the case, then I understood the assignment and gladly accepted it.
Der morgentliche Nebel zusammen mit der aufgehenden Sonne über den Wäldern des Elbsandsteingebirges senden mir eine Botschaft in Form eines Strichcodes.
Zu meinem großen Bedauern bin außer stande diesen Code zu entziffern und so bleibt mir nur dazustehen, diesen Anblick zu bestaunen und zu vermuten, was die Nachricht wohl bedeuten kann.
Es könnte ein schlichtes "Guten Morgen Wanderer" sein oder aber auch ein Hilferuf (Da es hier in der Gegend vor kurzem heftig gebrannt hat, wäre das garnicht so unwahrscheinlich).
Vielleicht war es jedoch auch einfach nur die Aufforderung inne zu halten und wirklich zu sehen. Zu sehen und zu fühlen, welche Wunder uns jeden Tag umgeben. Sie zu würdigen und zu bewahren und anderen Menschen zu zeigen.
Wenn das war, dann habe ich den Auftrag verstanden und nehme ihn gern an.

The fall and winter brings dramatic changes to the light and tones here. This looks as though a blue or cooling filter was used but aside from sharpening and a slight adjustment in color curves, it is unfooled around with. Thanks for the visit. An Owosso-Cadillac run on the GLC heads west through Clare with a pair of SD40-2s sporting a few different shades of blue. Clare is normally as far north as the Owosso crew will work, but delays on the north end of the railroad prevented the Cadillac crew from making it south to Clare for several days in a row, creating a need for a long-distance run from Owosso to get traffic back up to speed. The uncommon SD40-2 pair was put together to get the train over the road, much to our delight.
During World War II in a, then, top secret location top mathematicians and cryptographers were called together to decipher the codes used in the German Enigma enciphering machine. Alan Turing with others working on the problem developed the Bombe, an electro-mechanical machine, which enabled them to decipher the messages sent by the enemy and so considerably shorten the war.

When I was working on this it reminded my of those DNA coding trays thus the title. Base image created using a Canon PowerShot camera and processed using Photoshop, and Redfield filters.

A Lake State southbound with interchange for CSX at Novi, Michigan is rolling south of Holly, alongside the code line with leased CITX SD60 6020 leading the way on December 20, 2019.
After a quick crew change at Dunsmuir, this northbound empty grain soon had made its way through Azalea. Like a lot of the Black Butte Sub, Azalea still has remains of code line, reminding one of a time when SP steam and diesels would’ve roamed these same rails. Makes me wish I was around to see the SP.
