Photo was captured on a weekend trip to Lieutenant Island, Wellfleet, Cape Cod. The view of Wellfleet bay in the horizon is one of my favorites on Cape Cod. The weather on this day was quite decent, but it's been a very wet and stormy summer so far in New England. Works best in large!
Happy Tuesday all!
This was taken on an afternoon trip to Cod Beck Reservoir, just outside Osmotherley. A lovely way to spend a quiet evening, on one of the first warm days of the year.
No, this is not in Alaska :)
This is located at the entrance to Pochet Island, Cape Cod.
It's a bit hard to see here but there's a road on both sides that tends to get flooded. Pochet Island is quite interesting, as far as a hiking destination.
A night shot from the Cod Beck reservior. I visited with the intention of getting some star trails, but the overhanging cloud did not shift !
Tribute to the Man of the Sea statue, located at Ílhavo, depicting the man on his endeavour of cod fishing on the North Sea, while his wife and children stands behind waiting for his return...
Thank you for your visits comments and favs! :-)
This is the Cape Cod Canal a channel of only several hundred feet in width which separates the Island from the mainland. As minor as it might seem by today's standards it stalled the development of the island letting it keep it's rustic nature until two road and one rail bridges were built close in time during the early 20th century.

Staithes is a seaside village in the Scarborough Borough of North Yorkshire, England. Roxby Beck, a stream running through Staithes, is the border between the Borough of Scarborough and Redcar and Cleveland. Formerly one of the many fishing centres in England, Staithes is now largely a tourist destination within the North York Moors National Park.

A backlit Cod Rock on the the Bicheno foreshore, Tasmania. The trees on Redbill Point behind the rock.
Big swell making on the beaches behind the point and a lot of sea spray/mist in the atmosphere right on sundown/late golden hour.

If you're fond of sand dunes and salty air
Quaint little villages here and there
You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod
If you like the taste of a lobster stew
Served by a window with an ocean view
You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod
Winding roads that seem to beckon you
Miles of green beneath a sky of blue
Church bells chimin' on a Sunday morn
Remind you of the town where you were born
If you spend an evening you'll want to stay
Watching the moonlight on Cape Cod Bay
You're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod

Some of favorite memories as a kid are summers on Cape Cod in the 40s and 50s. All my daydreaming of home while in Vietnam was of Cape Cod.
