Cockington Green Gardens is a park of miniatures, situated in Nicholls, Australian Capital Territory. It is a very popular attraction for local and foreign tourists. Doug and Brenda Sarah had the idea to create a miniature village in 1972 and Cockington Green was opened on 3 November 1979. The business is family owned and operated, incorporating over four generations. 11967

The Parish Church of St.George & St.Mary is believed to have been built by William de Falaise in 1069

 

The Cockington family owned Cockington Estate from 1048–1348.

Another thatched delight from this little village.I particularly like the way the windows arch to follow the roof line.

Cockington Country Park in all it's autumn splendour.

Lower Lodge in Cockington Village, Torbay, is a Grade II listed building that dates back to the early to mid-19th century. It is made of local stone rubble with red sandstone quoins and Bathstone detail, and has a gabled slate roof. The lodge is terraced into the hillslope, and a sunken drive to Cockington Court passes through the middle of it, while a lane is carried over the drive behind the lodge.

Last in the series of six from the lovely village of Cockington. The old forge,which is now a gift shop...or shoppe !...is a famous feature...shown on the left of this image. Hard to get this scene complete in all sun...so I did the best I could.

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.

The changing colours of autumn at Cockington Country Park, Torbay, South Devon. The season is now well underway with some trees more advanced than others which makes for a wonderful mix of green to yellow, to brown.

The Cockington Watermill, located in Cockington village near Torquay, is a listed building with a grade II status. It was formerly known as Water Mill to Granary and is now used as a cafeteria. The mill has origins that are likely older than its dated wheel from 1878, and it has been considerably restored in the 20th century in the Lutyens style.
