Some virgin drill cobolt drill bits for drilling hard things with.

It took some time to paint this vase, several layers of glass paint and the gilding was not easy. I finally got it ready just some time ago. I will not reveal how much time it took, but I am very happy with the result :) The gold leaf is on both sides.

I've loved hydrangeas ever since I saw my first one decades ago, way before they were so trendy, but I've never seen these little stars. Maybe I've not looked closely enough, or maybe this is a variety I've not seen before. Cool though, eh?

originally built as siemens microprocessor chip plant, complete with heavy water, taken over by atmel, now its getting demolished, to think i used to work there when it was being built, and what a good laugh that time was, this site must of only been completed 10 years ago,

what a waste, but at least the scrapmans happy

multiple long exposures @ 60 seconds, changed wb for each shot, not quite as id hoped, but it was seriously cold so called it a night early

My wedding ring (version2 since I lost the original in the Aegean 2 years ago). Shot with a 36 mm extension ring and a ringlight with remote shutter. Converted from raw with UFraw in Gimp.

Haugfoss is a waterfall on the river Simoa in Modum, Buskerud. It has a vertical drop of 39 meters.

Haugfossen is located on County Road 287 between Åmot and Simostranda. The road overlooks the falls. From here you can follow trails with viewpoints on both sides of the falls. On the left side, it passes the old water wheel and ends up at the farm Greteplassen. The right side trail towards Blaafarveværket, is part of the nature trail "Haugfossen around".

Haugfossen has been used as a motif by many artists throughout history. The waterfall, from 1778 to 1898, was a central part operations of Blaafarveværket (cobalt mine), and before that it was harnessed for power to several sawmills. During the mines operating years, the water from the waterfall ran the color mill and quarries. After mining was discontinued, a pulp mill was built, Haugfoss Træsliperi, in the same place .

Modum county currently operates a power plant in connection with waterfall. Built in 1938 and updated in 1988 to have a capacity of 4,5 MW.

Newcastle. 16th October 2021.

This dazzling and colourful outdoor plaza mural, was co-designed this summer by Glasgow-based sign-writing team Cobolt Collective in collaboration with communities from across Dundee. The bright patches of colour contrast wonderfully with the V and A itself.

The V and A is an imposing new building at Dundee waterfront, designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, and takes the world famous museum's name. The museum has been built out into the River Tay, with a "prow" jutting over the water like a boat, recalling the shipbuilding heritage of the city.

I saved the Chevy Cobolt and the Mitsubishi Galant from being tossed... I saw them in a trash bag by the side of the road and saved them!

Some classic fashion on show.

This weeks theme for Macro Mondays is "Blue"

This is the bottom of a glass bowl.

November in Skagen.

It was a windless and totally blue morning, about an hour before sunrise....

Stopping by to browse one of the great one-man pottery workshops as you slowly drive through the south of France is a wonderful thing.

I almost didn't make this week's Twitter Photo Challenge. I've been away since Sunday, and the rest of the week's been hectic. But doing the not-so-smart thing and say no to bed and yes to photography enables me to enter this shot at least.

This week's topic is "movement", and this is my interpretation of that word.

The technical blurb

Camera set to ISO 250, manual exposure 15 second shutter time and f/22 (a little too dark, to be honest, so I added approx 2/3 stops in Adobe Camera Raw -- i.e. similar to heightening ISO to something like 400).

The camera was on a tripod sticking out of a window in the back and secured in the back seat. A flash was connected to the camera with a cable and placed in the passenger seat. It was set to manual output 1/1 and second curtain sync.

Apart from all these gadgets you need a car and *slow* speed. The car couldn't bump around too much, because I wanted the lines created by the street lights to be fairly straight.

It's me you see in the mirror there.

BTW: This photo is taken in almost the same spot as last's week's twphch-entry.

Amazing colours in the oil pastels. How often do you see bluish grey, or cobolt pale?

These are the days of lasers in the jungle,

Lasers in the jungle somewhere,

Staccato signals of constant information,

A loose affiliation of millionaires

And billionaires and baby,

These are the days of miracle and wonder,

This is the long distance call

My favorite color in the world is blue,

No other color will ever do!

Don’t tempt me with any other hue,

From Azure to Cobolt to Majorelle too,

Prussian, Sapphire and Tiffany Blue,

Turquoise, Viridian and Zaffre too.

To every one of those shades I’ll always be true!

My favorite color is ONLY Blue!
