Hiked up to Caldron Lake near Peyto Lake yesterday. We were the only ones there which made it even more special to soak in the view of this massive alpine gem. Keep in mind that if you want to hike here, the bridge to cross the stream is washed out (we searched upstream in the glacial outwash and couldn't find it, so we ended up removing our boots and wading through knee deep water). The silty water is practically opaque so you can't even see your feet beneath the surface nor where the rocks are, making the creek crossing a little nerve-racking.

To my eye, the Milkweed for a while provides a plush velvety home bathed in soothing pastels. I'll give these guys a break and move on to other species.

We don't get much rain or fog out here. But what we do get is intense light and burning blue skies.

Here is our whole family, absent Uncle John and of course Grandma Cobalt is behind the camera. Taken down the street from my home, Monty the dog was happy to oblige for the photo op in exchange for adoring pets from my grand-daughters. This was taken after we all took a walk after the cake and ice cream for Uncle Drew who turned 28 today. I think I have turned about 98 after a wild week, ha ha!

In my opinion this is the most prestigious resident of the milkweed condo complex. Market Lake WMA, Roberts, Idaho

🔷 21/31

I was heading back inside after shooting in the forest and saw this glimmer of light peeking through the trees. I thought hey, let’s try one more shot (not expecting anything fancy). So I tied my hair back using a red ribbon and hoped for the best. When I saw this shot appear on my viewfinder it was like a wave of nostalgia hit me all at once. It took me right back to my early self portraiture days... right when I received my 50mm f/1.8 lens and saw bokeh properly for the first time with me in the frame.

Honestly, there was nothing more inspiring and exciting than those early days venturing off into this same forest without any clear idea ... just documenting whatever I was feeling or what I was going through during those oh so memorable teenage years 😂 My @flickr peeps will understand 💙💕

If you know me, I love a good concept... a photo that tells a story. Whilst this photo is simple and there aren’t a bunch of fancy props or costumes... there still really is a story 💙

Posting up what I intend to wear the next few days :)

We don't have a great number of items around the house that are exclusively 'decorative' but the couple of Geodes we have are from our travels on the planet.

This Geode is from Morocco.

We have bluebirds in our yard all year long. They can be nosey neighbors. This male seems to already have his mating colors, and he is gorgeous. For 125 Pictures in 2025 #18 - Cobalt.

This was an early morning blue hour and fog shot taken of the Golden Gate Bridge. The fog developed suddenly behind the bridge. Moments later the bridge vanished into the fog. Thanks for looking!
