THE INVASION OF CLERMONT-FERRAND
The first (two?) invasion wave(s) of the center of Clermont-Ferrand occured in the year 2000 and consisted 8 space invaders, 4 of them are still there (including 1 re-activation) and flashable.
In January 2016 Clermont-Ferrand was invaded again, the 3rd invasion wave took place:
"At the occasion of the screening of the very last version of the movie Art4Sspace at the Interntional Short Film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand, I have added 31 new creations to the city of the center of France. Among various themes, they refer to movies and cinema but also to what Clermont Ferrand is famous for : its gothic cathedrale, its volcanos, its Michelin factories and its Serge Gainsbourg street" (Invader)

"On the road (again)..." is what Invader said on Instagram (Instagram - Invaderwashere...'on the road') when he was going to Clermont-Ferrand for a second "invasion wave" in this city in January 2016. For me, a plan for a roadtrip to this city in the Auvergne was born. Left Amsterdam early to be around 14h00 in the area of Clermont-Ferrand, a drive of more than 940 kilometers.
This photo is taken on the A1 (Autoroute du Nord) near Goyencourt, already more than 3 hours on my way to Clermont-Ferrand.

Left Amsterdam at 03h08 in the rain with a temperature of 8° C. Crossed the Belgium border after 113 kilometers at 04h12. And the Belge-French border at 05h43 after 263 kilometers. The lowest temperature was at the A1 where the temparature was only 1° C and the highest temperature was at the arrival in Clermont-Ferrand, 24° C.
On the way I flashed space invader PA_1141 near Centre Commercial Belle-Epine in Thiais (94) at 08h15 and continued on the A10 to Orléans. A coffeel stop at Aire de Limours-Janvry from 08h43 to 09h21, a fuel stop at Total at Aire d'Orléans Saran (gas price 1.39 /liter) at 10h10 after 620 kilometers.
Early lunch, late breakfast stop at McDo Saran from 10h29 to 10h55.

Just before the junction/exit of the N104 (Evry and Orléans by route nationale) I encountered beautiful nappes de brouillard (fog patches) in the valley near the commune of Marcoussis. Together with blue skies.

Almost arriving at destination! I was on my way to capture and flash space invader CLR_27 which is located about 20 kilometers from the city of Clermont-Ferrand. In the forest. I was on a mission here. Accomplished in about 10 minutes from this point!

Uuuuund Jackpot in der Berliner Wuhlheide! :)
Thema heute: Das neue Leben der 155 103...
Trotz teils sehr dichtem Nebel ging es heute noch einmal zur Berliner Wuhlheide. Der Regenradar zeigte, dass spätestens am frühen Nachmittag eine große Regenfront auf Berlin zukommen wird, die (gefühlte) Temperatur sank immer weiter. Da sagt man dann schon gelegentlich zu sich selbst: "Na komm, ein Zug geht noch. Einer noch." [Minuten später] "Oh, das war ja jetzt auch was schönes. Und das Signal ist schon wieder umgesprungen, den warte ich jetzt auch noch ab."
Und es sollte sich gleich zweimal lohnen. 155 103 mit ihren Kesseln war eines von gleich zwei absoluten Highlights heute. Diese Aufnahme ist auch meine erste Aufnahme dieser Lok...
Die hier gezeigte Lok, also besagte 155 103, erhielt erst am 20.07.2016 von ihrem neuen Eigentümer, der CLR - Cargo Logistik Rail-Service GmbH in Barleben, eine neue Hauptuntersuchung und ist seitdem - in ihrem neuen Farbkleid - erneut im Einsatz.
155 103 wurde bereits im Jahre 1979 als 250 103 an die (damals noch) Deutsche Reichsbahn ausgeliefert. Nach einer langen DR bzw. DB Cargo/Schenker-Karriere wurde die Lok dann Ende 2014 bei der DB abgestellt und im März 2016 dann letztlich ausgemustert. Nur zwei Wochen nach ihrer Ausmusterung bei DB Schenker wurde die Lok dann von CLR gekauft und wieder zum Leben erweckt.

The autoroute A71 just before crossing the river la Sioule and about 50 kilometers more to Clermont-Ferrand. The Puy de Dome (+1464 m) was already visible at the horizon at this point. The A71 is getting more sloping and descending from this point. Fun to drive for sure!
Autoroute A71
The A71 autoroute is a highway in central France. It is also called the l'Arverne. It starts at Orléans and ends at Clermont-Ferrand. Opened between 1980 and 1989.
The autoroute is 2x2 lanes and is operated by the Société Cofiroute (Orléans-Bourges). The section between Orléans to Salbris was opened on 24 October 1986. In 1989 it was completed to Bourges.
It crosses two régions, Centre and Auvergne and 5 départements; Loiret, Loir-et-Cher, Cher, Allier, Puy-de-Dôme.

Before 8h00 driving around Paris on my way to Clermond-Ferrand with a short stopover in Thiais to take a photo and flash the re-activated space invader PA_1141. Photo taken near Créteil in the département Val-de-Marne (94). Taken through the window pane of the car in motion.
A86 (sometimes called "Paris super-périphérique") is the second ring road around Paris, France. It follows an irregular path around Paris with the distance from the city centre (Notre Dame) varying from 8–16 kilometres (5.0–9.9 mi).
