Met up with Steve for some early morning shooting at the Hyde Street pier. I've been trying to go a different direction with my B+W work by experimenting with T/S lenses and DoF to create more mystery and add a dream-like feel to the image. I've been out several times but have not come back with much due to learning the nuances of the T/S lenses. I thought this one did come close to what I had envisioned.

The sun sets behind clouds on a Spring evening along Yellowstone Lake in Yellowstone National Park. The winter ice on the lake is melting. There are patches of open water especially near the shoreline. The floating ice has pools of meltwater across its surface. Standing onshore I heard the sound of crickets while I was taking this photo. Spring comes suddenly and quickly to Yellowstone. Any day the spring could give a way to winter again for a day or two but Spring has arrived. Summer is just around the corner. It is a wonderful time to be in Yellowstone.
