Storm Chasing Video from that Afternoon on Flickr Click Here

Working on Spring projects with the wife. Enjoying our day together. Plans were made & I had no plans for chasing any storms even if they form.

Honestly, My time with family succeeds any other activity. I knew there were storms to the south of us this day. But again it was family time. I didn't even look on radar.

Finished our projects & went out to the front of the house and my jaw dropped!!! Literally in front of me this incredible updraft on a NON-severe warned storm. This had no warning on it, and I was dumbfounded. Asked... Wife said go get'm Tiger... Rest is History.

Storm Chasing is not always about catching a Tornado. This storm cell was already in its dying stages... Finished off this afternoon with some up close and personal shots of this dying thunderstorm!

Storms that afternoon and evening were to far west for me to chase that day. I waited till they got into range about an hour before sunset. One heck of a mammatus display on the outer rim of this anvil @ sunset.

This cell was severe warned and was moving due east northeast. But I came for the sunset light and the storm. I didn't stay that long but every shot here was worth the effort!

Moderate Risk threat that afternoon as the storm began to fire about 5pm CDT in south central Nebraska.

We had planned it out perfectly. Just out in front of these cells before the NWS threw a warning on this supercell. We didn't have much time though as it was producing golf ball sized hail just to the west of our location.

Weak storm cells developing to the southwest of Kearney and into my backyard. Another stormscape photo opportunity awaited.

When the storms are off in the distance...

Even though I wasn't chasing the storms that afternoon. Being close to home means that I'll get a chance at capturing some interesting storm cloud structures. Late May storm towers off to my southeast... &the cloudscapes coming up from North Central Kansas would be simply surreal that evening.

Late March ... 2024

Just to the east of Beaver City Nebraska we encounter of first of many to come storms of 2024...

A menacing storm cloud looms over the plains, showing signs of a heavy rain or potential severe weather about to strike. Dark, swirling clouds dominate the sky, while a dirt road stretches into the distance, suggesting a vast, open landscape susceptible to extreme weather.

Not may pics to display due to I was driving & when I wasn't I was playing with some new tech. What I did capture was of course right what I was looking for.

Always good storm chasing stories to tell about my weather adventures in 2014.

Days right after my knee replacement... Home from the hospital & I definitely wasn't supposed to be out and about. Knee was almost in a cast and I wasn't supposed to be doing anything to aggravate the situation. Though my quest for severe weather never ends and I wasn't going to miss another possible chase especially when its in my backyard. This storm was going to be a photogenic monster... Decision was made & off I went.

I wasn't out for long as the storm has now passed over to the north of the city. Wasn't the wisest of ideas to go out. I headed back home & as I pulled into the drive, the backside edge of the updraft had this incredible mammatus display. It was just a bit north of the city & I had a phenomenal view of this storm as it passed almost directly overhead. Sunlight that was cresting against this was simply incredible. So much detail in these mammatus clouds I couldn't quit taking snaps.

Personal Note *** On the original set Back in 2014 I had use the free Avery photo editor here Flickr and it wasn't the best but I had no prior knowledge of editing them back then. Only shot in .jpg format and I didn't do the best by over coloring and over saturation. Was very under experienced in photo editing back then.

Another epic set of thunderstorm captures from South Central Nebraska remastered through Lightroom and Photoshop. Though I paid for it with my knee just being replaced. I was super sore and the swelling was unreal a few days after this event. All worth it when it comes to what epic views I caught storm chasing on that particular day!

Late August and I wasn't chasing this day... In fact I was preparing to head out to the east coast to catch up with Hurricane Dorian.

Just few blocks from my home here in Kearney Nebraska with no warnings issued this was creaping in from the west northwest. This thunderstorm didn't become severe until it passed over the city of Kearney. But as it approached... the sky was talking and I was listening...

I couldn't resist! With camera in hand I was out to capture a few hundred pics of what was in front of me. A wicked good photographic Nebraska stormscapes and some epic Nebraska Thunderheads!

Mid October... 2023

Final Chase Day at hand for 2023....

Warm and with SPC Active warnings that afternoon of severe weather. Stayed in the South Central Nebraska Hwy 6 Neighborhood.

Some wicked good, or should I say fantastic views of the out waves of moisture to mix in with spookiness of October. Late season supercells along the dryline were forming & I had to get underneath! You know for the view that are contained within! Oh I got my share that day.

Not to spoil the fun... No Tornado that day.. or at least I didn't see it. Came over the 2 way that the was one on the ground exactly where my cameras was pointed... however bad positing on my part. If it was there I didn't physically see it. It doesn't mean it wasn't there...

The active warning for the Tornado didn't fire off on my alarm till I was already due east of Minden Nebraska. Didn't have the best plan for attack here. I knew it was coming but where I deiced to park wasn't the best viewing position. When that alarm goes off & didn't have the best road network to navigate though the city or around the city of Minden. So I decide to stay put since it was already heading my way.

Sometimes this is a good decision, that day it wasn't. I had played this day out a little to shy & got caught with just an outflow dominate storm that afternoon after the Tornado Warning.

It was a Fun way to end the 2023 Chase Season... Can't Wait for 2024!

Late May 2018, Nebraska, south central to be correct. Some good moisture from the Gulf, with the normal heating of the day can produce these small pulse cells. Though not enough sheer to make any of these severe enough to produce any type of tornadic storm.

With no serious storms to chase.... doesn't mean there is nothing picturesque to take. Cells were forming out to my northeast to the southeast. No matter where I pointed my lens that afternoon, there was some incredible stormscapes to take.

July 29, 2012 - Kearney Nebraska US

2012 was a dry summer and the storm season was few & far between. Last recorded rainfall for us was back in early June. Working constantly I had that Sunday evening off and was able to get out to get a few snaps of this oncoming storm.

Finally received some much needed moisture. Strong thunderstorms had formed out in western Nebraska & were dying as they were entering southwest Buffalo county here in South Central Nebraska.

No warnings on this storm but she was producing some exceptional views of the core. Incredible cloud to cloud and cloud to ground lightning strikes pummeled the earth . This storm cell was proceeding to the northeast from the southwest. It crested right on the northern outskirts of the city. Couldn't have asked for better light & storm. Many photographic gems in this set!

As the first supercell had now moved north towards the North Platte Area. I was in the path of the 2nd storm gaining intensity and severity.

This was a larger complex of developing storm cells and I thought it was going become outflow dominate due to the large bow on radar from the outflow.

Though I would be wrong and this would stay organized and one could say I was in for a treat. Patiently awaiting I had the perfect spot again for this end of the year footage.

I was directly in the notch of this storm. Multi lightning bolts, cloud to cloud and cloud to ground were illuminating the ski every few seconds. Clearly defined cloud structure as one can see the developing wall cloud as it approached my location.

Yes this was very dangerous but this is what I do. Most never will or ever get to see a storm like this. Not this up close and personal as I did this evening. A wicked good way to end my Storm Chasing Weather Adventures in 2019!

Moved to the south to get ahead of this monster once again! TVS Warnings and Tornado Warnings were in front and back of our location as we traveled to Trenton Nebraska. Again we didn't see any tornadoes. If they were there they were rain wrapped.

We honestly should not have been in the thick of it with no visibility but that's whats called punching the core to get to the other side of the storm.

Back in front of this we had lost our warning for the storm but within 10 mins of being there another tornado warning popped up right in front of us.

Radar had indicated the tornado just to the northwest (right side of this image) but we couldn't see it due to the intensity of the rainfall. We had just a few mins before the core of the storm passed over us. These are the images before that event!

June is our prime time month for severe weather here in South Central Nebraska. Every year this window of the severest weather of season varies. The June 2013 was prime for our severe weather events and was right on time!

Tornadic Storms that day would line up from the Broken Bow area south of Wilcox Nebraska and South to the Kansas Border. Though I did get some excellent photography that afternoon. I should have played the 2nd cell that day which produced the only tornado just east of Elm Creek Nebraska. I only got a few snaps of this cell as it was already moving south and had lost her steam.

On the beginning of the chase, I had ventured south out of Kearney knowing that storm development was already in progress though severe thunderstorm warnings just being issued for Dawson and Buffalo Counties in Nebraska. Projected storm path was just to the west of Kearney and south so I ventured down to the Hwy 6 corridor to play ball.

Between Axtell and Funk Nebraska, a nice setup was happening right in front of my location. I was just on the interior side of the developing cell as this wall cloud had formed. It would get undercut severely and would eventually go outflow dominate as it moved south.

July came in with a Bang! Sweet storm setup with small tornado potential this day. We knew before we went that this would be an outflow dominate storm. A shelf cloud that stretched all the way from South Dakota into Kansas. 286 Miles long as we intercepted this beast storm about 8:15pm near Beaver City Nebraska for starters.

For some odd reason my Canon T3i overheated this late evening so I wasn't able to get all the pics that wanted from this day. With that being said, I have limited photos from this event.

Though what we did capture was simply Storm Chasing Eye Candy! High instability with a huge mammatus field stretching from horizon to horizon. One of the best photographic shelf clouds of the 2020 season.

Best thing was, we got out in front of it again by Alma Nebraska... Surreal!

With pics from my smartphone and some video help from Myles Nelson I was able to put this vid together! Took a few weeks but the end result is of course ....Epic! Storm Chasing out in the plains of South Central Nebraska to kick off the month of July was simply a hoot!

First moderate risk day of the year out in Western Nebraska. We decided to head out early to catch the action.

Was trying to Twitch Stream (streaming link down below) our chase this day, though my HD camera decided otherwise. Had many technical glitches that afternoon and I'm happy mishaps happen on the first chase of the year. Prepares the next adventure without failure.

First storm erupted north of Grant Nebraska but I was messing around with the live feed and didn't take any snaps... put the problems aside and moved north to Ogallala Nebraska to catch this dying cell.

Not many pics in this set but was caught was worth every second to get out of the house for a few hours!

Storms were to develop early afternoon but the dry line stalled. Late afternoon into mid evening the dry line pushed just to the west of our location.

With unusually humid conditions for this time of year in South Central Nebraska, this produced the perfect conditions for supercells to develop just to the southwest & west of Kearney Nebraska.

Rarely do we get to see the full development from nothing to a full fledged supercell and this one had fast development resulting in some of my best storm photography for 2012

The month of July in Nebraska is mostly just outflow storms from about mid June on. Meaning extremely strong outflow winds in front of this storm. Destructive that evening with winds over 60+ mph.

Once the storm base moved closer I was able to get some incredible cloud to ground strikes that would make for some of the best lighting captures of 2018. Like clock work I expected a late night storm with some phenomenal definition.

Beautiful crystal blue lightning illuminated the night as the arcus (shelf cloud) approached from the due west. Severe warnings were in place & right in my direction. Got to my location, set up the gear and went to town... Nothing but Crystal Blue Thunderstorm Eye Candy!!!

Early August 2023...

Storms were predicted & delivered right after midnight. Severe Warned for high winds & hail... This was a sculptured outflow dominate storm. I learned a long time ago doing night storm photography that you have some extra light to make this happen. Not the light from the storm but I use the city lights to help paint the sky.

Sitting now on the so called edge of the city (always expanding). One the few last places I can get good clear view of the sky to the west without power-lines... Probably the last year I can take snaps from this location since there is construction going on all around.

I forgot one of my nice 4k cams with extra sensitivity for night... Figures I had everything ready but forgot to load the battery. Cam in hand I went to town with this set of images with this most impressive ominous overnight shelf cloud. This was an Night Time Eye Candy Storm. What a beauty!

No tornadoes on this day's chase, but some incredible supercell structure out on the plains of Nebraska.

We started the day with a supercell that had several meso structures being reported from radar. This storm was tracking slowly about 12 knots cresting from the northwest to southeast. Classic June storm structure for this time of year in Nebraska. Northwest of North Platte Nebraska it had reported wall cloud and we definitely wanted a piece of this action.

We arrived as it was gaining strength as it has pushed through Maxwell Nebraska. We stopped in Brady, just to the southeast via I-80 corridor to get the bugs off of the windshield and as the storm was gaining strength. We had stopped just a few miles to the south of Brady we set up shop to catch this storm. Nice clear beautiful structure accompanied the underbelly of this supercell. Though we had a clear cut defined wall cloud this storm never did show us her tornadic teeth.

After about an hour on this storm in the same position (rare for us to do this) we eventually had to back off and get back to the east. We had to get south of Gothenburg just a few miles off the I-80 exit area for the next structured shot of this supercell. Oh we got just what we were looking for! Phenomenal base rotation!

Eventually we had backed off again as the hail core was approaching. Plus this cell was loosing its steam. We moved back to the I-80 corridor then south of Cozad Nebraska and this cell was in redevelopment mode and we had some waiting to do. Though not a long wait as this original cell fizzled out but we had one more chance for good structure south of Overten Nebraska. We headed to Loomis Nebraska for another treat to end the day. Oh did I say treat? We got a whole bunch more eye candy than expected.

Just to the east of Loomis Nebraska we encountered some incredible supercell structure. This storm wasn't going to be shy, and she eventually showed us some teeth.

Personal Note: For some odd reason I didn't clear my memory card on my last chase, and I ran out of room on my SD Card. I had to stop shooting after the wall cloud was right over my location my Loomis Nebraska. I didn't have time to pull out my spare card and load it due to the strength and this fast moving cell. This storm cell became outflow dominate and man do I mean dominate. We got caught in the outflow boundary several times with tons of gustnadoes and almost haboobish. I did have my trusty camera with me... I was in the drivers seat so when we had a chance, I did capture some incredible pics that blew me away literally.

All in all. I'm not always about catching the tornado. I had some good friends and fellow storm chasers along side that day. In my opinion... just another EPIC chase day in Nebraska!!! Woot Woot. More to come!

Thunderset = Cloudscapes after thunderstorm during a sunset.

Well its been a weird year for weather. No severe storms yet in 2020 to come into south central Nebraska. That alone is strange. Though after the past few years of flooding and other severe weather events. It is good to have a break from all of what mother nature has dished out to us here in the central plains of the US.

I haven't posted any new video for awhile so I thought it was time to pull out the 4k and get some practice in before our severe weather season starts... eventually. Dying thunderstorms, non severe were passing over, giving us some much needed spring moisture.

Oh the sky was talking and I couldn't resist getting this sunset. Another small set of photographic captures of this Nebraska Thunderset.

6th Year in a row we have had a severe thunderstorm pop in south central Nebraska late evening on the 4th of July. Thousands of strikes and the cloud to cloud lightning was simply breathtaking.

This storm crested right south of the I-80 Nebraska corridor, which is just south of Kearney. It was stationary for about an hour and then it pushed a little east before it grew and slowly moved to the southeast into North Central Kansas.

Storm Chasing Video from afternoon / evening on Flickr Click Here

Southwest of of Overton Nebraska...

This set of images is what I live for... Those epic moments when you finally hunted/found what your looking for. It does take a lot of patience to storm chase. The waiting, the planning, the doing. But the rewards at the end are priceless. My antlers on the wall.

Now for some storm chasers... the Holy Grail of Storm chasing is a Tornado. But not for me. It is events like this that give the full definition of Storm Chasing. It really what storm chasing Eye Candy is all about! It is the "Why" or the understanding of why I do this!

One the edge of this Nebraska Supercell I felt the AWE of Mother Nature!

Surreal!

Epic

Awesome!

Torrential rain, dime sized hail, were just part of what we received when the storm caught up with in Norton Kansas.

We packed up and headed east via Hwy 36 to junction 383. This would position us again in front of this storm cell. Again tons of cc & cg lightning were still accompanying this growing severe warned cell.

Early October 2023...

Still warm almost like a summer day here... Temps in the upper 80s Low 90s. Tons of gulf moisture coming in from the states south... It was going to be a good day in south central Nebraska for severe weather... At least what the forecast called for the night b4.

Woke up to the alarms on some of digital toys to alert me of severe weather when I'm getting some shut eye. Oh they were a blazin' about 6:45 am ish. I have the gear prepped... went out my garage door to a view of this early morning supercell. Had a TVS marker on it & had some decent 1/2" hail.

Snap Snap Snap... a few views in preview to what was going to be a 2 Tornado Day... That was later that afternoon!

Mid to late June in Nebraska is... in my words... a photographic storm chaser's heaven when it comes to storms. Almost every afternoon through mid evening then into the overnight, north south east or west of Kearney Nebraska we have storms that you can see clearly for hundreds of miles in any direction. Of course not all at the same time but there is plenty of eye candy this time of year.

Putting some distance between myself, a good photogenic storm and a good camera lens...The skies Nebraska offers this time of the year are truly magical. Though, there are a lot of farms and telephone poles, but if you can find the right places, there is open fields, and excellent perspectives. You can capture something special. As for example, this evening...

Folks, you see that I'm not always about chasing the Tornado. When severe weather approaches. These Nebraska Skies, they talk to me... and I never miss a good conversation...

This set of images were few... It was extremely hot that day. 102 on the thermometer and 112 on heat index. I squeezed every drop of

photographic energy that afternoon.

Finally my new camera and lens were in hand after I had smashed the last one a few week prior. I knew we were bound to get some pulse storms before the severe storms popped on the Nebraska Kansas Border. I couldn't resist to get out. I had missed a few opportunists that past week.

I still wasn't feeling good, in fact my condition would get much worse before better. So simply no chasing that afternoon. Equipment charged and ready to go. A time lapse was on for that afternoon. A few hours of footage from a distance... Oh I took a few snaps also!

Late July in South Central Nebraska. This time of year, of course its our dry season, but we do get some photographic thunderstorm development in the early morning hours. Right before dawn, strong cells were developing... forming just south of the I-80 corridor.

Beautiful CC lightning covered the skies a few hours before the crack of dawn!!!

This set of captures were taken just south of Wymore Nebraska. I had just came from south of Fairbury when over our 2 way reports of the storm to the south of Wymore had just went tornadic and there had already been confirmed reports of funnels ...

I don't speed, I calculated the time it would take for me to get there and .. I had time indeed to get into position to intercept. So I moved again to get into position, to get aligned with this next storm cell.

Already in Wymore & heading south. The storm was Raging... Moving due northeast... Some good hail 1 1/2" diameter hail stones were pounding my truck just on the outskirts of the township. I had stopped in a safe position... I was on the back end of the storm on the southwest side of the rotation... about 200 yards due east I noticed rotation right in front of me and BINGO...

2nd Tornado of 2018 in all of it's sweetness....

EF-0

Path about 1 - 1 1/2 mile to the northeast

All 3-4 mins of it eh!!!

This was taken just to the south of Overton Nebraska. This severe storm cell was aggressive. When I approached it was already tornado warned and it would be the start to one of the most photogenic days of 2011 for my storm photography.

What your viewing here is a classic example of what we call in storm chasing the RFD (Rear Flank Downdraft)

The rear flank downdraft or RFD is a region of dry air wrapping around the back of a mesocyclone in a supercell thunderstorm. These areas of descending air are thought to be essential in the production of many supercellular tornadoes.

What was an Epic day of Storm and Sky on the Eastern Plains of Colorado.

We had a late start to get to our destination of Goodland Kansas that afternoon. Though with that said we did see one Landspout / Tornado just to the south of Burlington Colorado. Of couse we would have luv'd to see some of the naders about 100 miles to our west but we didn't plan this one out correctly to do so.

Bumped into Legendary storm chaster Danial Shaw from Down Under... as he pulled up next to us shortly after we got there. I pretty sure he caught what we could see south of Burlington up close and personal.

Storm went outflow dominate as it squeezed its way into northwest Kansas. We ended this days chase between St. Francis and Bird City Kansas.

May 2, 2012 - North of Kearney Nebraska, US

Typical May evening in Nebraska. High humidity and warm temps were returning to the plains.

Cells were to form to the west north west of Kearney that evening. We had a few rogue storm cells, small but were building and shooting off just a ton on cloud to cloud lightning just to the north of my location.

Trying to get out of the city lights, so I could get some long exposure without all that ambient light. Found a little notch along the highway, and parked. OK, not the best with they power lines in the frame, I know I could photoshop these out but I think it helps give depth.

Solo Chase Day & Close to Home....

Luv it when the chases are in my backyard. Not having to drive 3 states and 1200 miles in 1 day is relief. I know I'm not the only chaser that says that. This was a phenomenal afternoon of severe weather. When I say this... It means that its photogenic & for the most part not effecting the farms, agriculture, livestock & the human element.

Mammatus before the storm, then I decided to bail on this first storm for the next which was to the north about 25 miles. This storm had wicked good rotation under the base. Even though it was high based it was producing some freakin awesome views.

The storm had overtaken my position and I had a 40 min drive to get back in front of this storm. It was on my tail the whole way back to the I-80 corridor. Though a little late I was still able to get back in front of shelf cloud. The teeth on the outflow were almost scraping the ground. It gave the effect of a funnel but it was not. Been doing this to long to make sure I know the difference.

That was a hoot. Though I waited til the last minute. I got swallowed by the core & had to wait it out. Want to see what its like out in the open with no shelter... This I have also done a billion times. 50mph winds rocked my truck! That was fun!

Finally, I blazed it backed to Kearney for this Storms Finale... Beautiful Sunset light illuminates the exiting storm with a Anvil Rain & Mammatus Cluster ... It was truly a Sight to See!!!!

Getting ready to pick up one my best friends in Gering Nebraska. A planned outing of Storm Chasing the Nebraska Panhandle that afternoon.

Though I was tired from the 5 hour drive just to get to Gering Nebraska. I just had total hip replacement surgery and was supposed to be taking it easy. Due to the surgery. I had to stop often to exercise. Risk of blood clots on long trips were possible. So I was out and walking around a lot that afternoon.

We didn't see it but we followed this cell past Kimball Nebraska and we should have stuck with it. Due to this would have been the Dix Nebraska tornado that day. Now, over 8 hours in the truck that day and I was extremely sore. So after catching some excellent storm captures, we decided to call it day. Figures... 30 mins after we left Kimball tornado was on the ground in Dix.

Can't complain though, it was one of the best severe weather photographic opportunities for 2013. Plus I got to chase the Panhandle again. Always worth the time to chase this location and seeing good ole friends to boot.

It was a good day!

Storm Chasing Video from that day Click Here

Didn't have to go very far for this chase day. All the storms were coming to us. Though the greatest risk for Naders this day was way way north. I knew if anything would form this way it would be brief. It was.

Started out with the first cells that came though, but the dust was so thick I really didn't want my camera in it so images were limited. But I did get a few.

Video is always running so was able to make this short vid of that chase day. 80+ mph winds with these storms as they moved though Nebraska. In all it was 3 rounds of severe weather and not just 1. Winds were ferocious... not safe to drive in this unless your experienced. I had a hard time at times keeping the truck on the road.

West of Odessa Nebraska was where I would first get some good video and photogenic captures of this approaching storm. Haboob ish.... strong winds were pulling the dirt in the outflow of the storm. Several radars were tracking just the dust cloud. It was a kewl sight to see live.

Not many captures from this set due to the blowing dust... but what was caught... well... You know!!!

Gotta luv severe weather when it pops close to home and I don't have to travel very far. One concern was my truck. Diagnosed with wheel bearing and axle problems. I wasn't going to go to far.

Right off the bat, wall cloud was forming on the back edge of this supercell. Severe warnings were up, but this storm had other plans. It just decided not to move for about 25 mins and stayed right in place.

Quarter sized hail and I had a few bruises to prove it! Plus we had another lone cell just to the north of this one which would eventually get eat'n up by this cell but it sure was purdy to watch!

No nader this day, but structure, hail, and strong winds made this a perfect day for severe weather photography and videography!

Now back in South Central Nebraska... We were about to experience the strongest outflow boundary of the year. 110-120 mph winds were accompanied by this super strong beast. Tons of cloud to cloud lightning and beautiful arcus shelf cloud structure was beautiful view as she approached from the southwest.

Now moving almost directly due east we had to jimmy south to Alma Nebraska from Hwy 89 to get back in front of this monster. Believe it or not, the calm before the storm was evident here. No wind until the shelf came over our heads and then we got hit hard. Luckily we had gear already prepped and put away as headed north as soon as this hit our location.

Though you know me... I waited till the very last second to get these captures!

We usually get these nasty storms earlier in the year. History's track record has them in the latter part of may early June. But the last 3 years in south central Nebraska have all been those early July storms making them worthy of remembering.

We had tried to race this storm all the way back from Cozad but strong storm cells developed just to the north of the Interstate (80) and were destined to move south. We were east bound back to Kearney as we got slammed again once we got back into city limits.

Knocked out power to the city for about 6 hours.. Tons of transformers blew all over the town...

I've learned a few valuable lessons over the years of chasing severe weather. One of them is to be extremely cautious of the dirt & dust that is kicked up in the early storms of the season. I spend hundreds of $$$ on keeping my lens clean. I should say lenses since I have multiple cams. Meaning I don't get my cams out for the dirt. Yes its going to happen but not again on the first storms of the year... Please note that you can see the haze of the dirt flying in on the back side of the storm it was nasty.

It was good to see the return of the first storms of the season here in South Central Nebraska. This was the same system that produce all those tornadoes in Iowa, but this was the day before. (Someone messaged me & asked why I wasn't chasing Iowa) Real reason is its Way East... Ya I could have gone but I had some other responsibilities & want to save the $ for fuel for later chase dates... There will be more storms!

While the rest of the US has seen its share of severe weather this springtime 2023. Nebraska has a very limited amount of nice weather, let alone nicer temps as spring approaches. Just last week we had a winter squall come through with 6 inches of snow. So yes there was snow still on the ground in a few places as temps reached 70 here for the first time this year.

I need to get out & grasp a few snaps before the haboob swept over the city. (Dust Storm)

Officially my first of 2023, can't wait to see what's next!
