The updated version of my Cloud Strife minifig as he appears in Final Fantasy VII. Joint effort between me and Amadgunslinger. :)

Being an avid Final Fantasy fan, I did not overlook the Buster Sword that BrickCommand is selling. BrickCommand is the second custom vendor to produce molds of FF related items (BrickArms being the first with the Gunblade). Many other customizors such as myself, Hazel, and Family Bricks, took their spin on the oversized sword.
Based on the iconic sword of the same name from Final Fantasy VII, the sword comes in Light Gray. Due to the size, you have to angle it right to prevent figs from falling over (or just use a stand like I did).
Personally I find the sword to be a bit oversized in terms of width (The Buster Sword is actually short in width compared to Cloud's waist), however since BrickCommand is the first vendor to produce this awesome sword and it is sometimes hard to get the dimensions right (Armothe of BrickForge told me this), I am going to let it slide. :P
I recommend obtaining some of these swords, and if you aren't a Final Fantasy fan, well it certainly has a few other uses (like anime figs).
Decide to retake the group photo of my FFVII (or should I say THE GREATEST GAME EVAR) figs.
From L to R: Yuffie, Tifa, Vincent, Aerith, Red XIII, Cloud, Cid, Barret, Cait Sith
*figs aren't new, just wanted to retake them since I had them out when getting Cloud

Myself as Aerith. This picture is about 5 years old but it's my fav out of my Aerith cosplay. Photo by Brian G.
This is from our latest shoot we did with local cosplayer Sean Gordon doing his "Cloud Strife" from the Final Fantasy series.
I took the pic in a local park, then did the edit in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Strobist info: I used 5 YN560iii's for this one. One behind the model, bare, slightly to camera right. I had two in gridded softboxes to either side of the model. One in a gridded octobox infront of the model, slightly to camera right. The last was bare, in front of the model, to camera left, bounced off the concrete the model was standing on.
Cloud is perhaps Square's most popular character, having appeared in numerous games/films. His first appearance was in what is regarded by many as the greatest video game of all-time, Final Fantasy VII.
Artnia is the official character goods shop and cafe of Square-Enix, one of the world's most successful video game makers. The small shop is located just outside the Sqaure-Enix headquarters in Shinjuku.
Artnia. Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Cloud needed a Buster Sword that needed that "Lego feel" to it. Plus it is easier to pose with than the other "stand in" sword.
This final fantasy paper toy is a chibi Cloud Strife, the main protagonist in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, the paper model is created by Paperized Crafts.
There are also Normal Scale Cloud Strife Papercraft and another Chibi Cloud Strife paper toy on the site.

Been toying around a bit and attempted to make Cloud Strife's gravity defying hair. Using BrickTW's hair pieces, I managed to make this. BTW this is no remake of Cloud, just using my previous Cloud fig to model the hair. The hair may be used for his reconstruction though...
Itachi seemed a little suprised when I told him I'm not a great swimmer.
Cloud, on the other hand, is a water baby.

Top L to Bottom R: Cloud Strife, Aerith Gainsborough, Sephiroth, Yuffie Kisaragi, Cait Sith, Barret Wallace, Tifa Lockheart, Cid Highwind, Vincent Valentine, and Red XII as they appear in Final Fantasy VII.
I was a huge fan of the game 'Final Fantasy 7' when growing up, and these plushies were some of my favorite memorabilia made for the franchise. I coveted these as a teen and had no means of importing them back when they were new, so I was thrilled when I was able to finally start collecting them years later. They stand at about 7" and were officially offered via Japanese "UFO Catcher" crane machine arcade games in the late-90's; licensed by Banpresto.
Cloud Strife with his "Buster Sword", Aerith Gainsborough, Barret Wallace, and Red XIII - were a part of the first wave (along with a sitting yellow Chocobo), while Tifa Lockhart, Yuffie Kisaragi, Cid Highwind, another version of Cloud Strife with his "Hardedge Sword", Vincent Valentine, Cait Sith, and Sephiroth - made up the second run. A third wave was also released, comprised of just Chocobos, which included standing versions of the yellow, black, blue, green, and gold color morphs, and a sitting "Chubby Chocobo." I'm missing 2.0 Cloud, the Chocobos, Vincent, Cait Sith, and Sephiroth. I'm not too fussed about having a complete collection though, so not sure if I'm ever going to ever bother tracking them down.
The downside to these is that they weren't made of very high quality materials, and have not really aged well as a result. The pleather/vinyl parts of them are very dry, and have a tendency to crack and flake. Some of them are in better condition than others, depending on what materials were used. The brown pleather on Cid and Aerith, for example, seems to be better quality, and has held up better than say, Tifa and Yuffie's gloves and boots. Unfortunately, I know that large portions of Vincent and Sephiroth's plushes are also comprised of weaker materials, which is largely what put me off from completing the set.
The eyes (as with most UFO catchers from this time) also have a tendency to yellow, but I've been able to get them looking white again with a gentle cleaning. Red's bangle bracelets were a metallic gold at the time of this photo, but they have since oxidized and turned black (which seems to have also happened to all that I've seen on ebay recently).
They're becoming more scarce as the years tick by, but every now and then you can find someone selling one. Remember that they've been out for nearly two decades now; they're very fragile at this point, so expect them to have flaws.
Despite all that, they're pretty cute as far as collectibles go, and I really appreciate the details that were put into them for such little plush dolls. Aerith even has her "White Materia" resting on her hair ribbon, and a full plastic "Guard Stick" staff (the others' weapons are fabric).
