Another re-edit of an image that I'd taken during a trip to the Baltic Sea island Usedom several years ago. Duly slid for Sliders Sunday – you can find the almost SooC original upload in the first comment. In the original, un-cropped image the beach line is almost exactly in the middle, because I hadn't dared to get any closer to the person that was lying there so picturesquely (and, as an afterthought from pandemic times: perfectly socially distanced). And since I had been so far away the gulls are mere spots of white in the distance, but I think they are still easily identifiable as gulls, albeit pretty impressionistic – or even pointillistic – gulls ;)
HSS, Everyone, and have a safe and nice new week ahead!
There is always something to surprise and delight me during my lockdown walks. This was taken from the first bridge, the eastern end of Princes Parade, overlooking the historic Royal Military . Canal . So very beautiful .....
Winnebago River - Iowa
Documenting the change of seasons as we progress towards the white weather. We have had, and still have very windy conditions across north Iowa.
Most colorful leaves are now gone, leaving browns, tans and interesting wind blown clouds to enjoy.!

The Heartland - Iowa
Our very windy April day with gust 30 mph plus, drama clouds overhead and rich earthy colors until the major spring rains turn our world green again.
This is a very typical spring day in Iowa . . . without the wind it wouldn't be normal!

Large Meadow Area - Iowa
The weather today has been a complete roller-coaster ride of sunshine, wind, thunder storms and rain. Very scattered storms coming down from Minnesota.
The rain is very welcomed, the temperatures quite mild . . . if you are not happy, just wait, it will change in 5 to 10 minutes!

Korth's Meadow - Iowa
On this very windy afternoon I hiked my favorite area, watching the big clouds roll over my head. It was about 38 degrees, winds gusting from the northwest over 40 mph, and amazing cloud drama!
I have taken many photos in this area over the years, but each season, time of day and weather provides another opportunity! :)

Sedona, Arizona
Thought we could all use some warmth this morning with record setting - minus temperatures and wind chills rolling across the Midwest!
After our brief visit to the Grand Canyon, we decided to check out the Sedona area. What a delightful landscape and community. We'll go back with more time I'm sure . . .

I have not ventured to Old Sacramento, my very favorite place in Sacramento, since March. I got up at 5am this morning and decided "today is the day" This is looking north, upriver, The sun had not yet topped the horizon. I saw a few homeless people asleep on benches and otherwise saw maybe 4 other people. That is the I Street Bridge off in the distance.

I was out exploring the clouds and landscapes before our light snowfall Thursday night. The clouds were amazing, the wind was sustained at 25 mph with gusts of 35 mph most of the day.
After the bright leaves, I find the warm earthy colors to be quite beautiful in the spotty sunlight. I've taken this view before, but each time is so different depending on weather, season and light.

Cerro Gordo County - Iowa
Roaming around north Iowa in the big winds before the light snow. I chuckle at the title, because this beautiful wooded hill is all but lost in the prairie grass.
Mute beautiful late autumn colors shine in the sunlight. The clouds help to add some drama to the landscape!

North Iowa - 160th Ave.
I found the early morning cloud patterns to be quite unusual this morning to the west of town. Very little breeze currently, but the clouds shapes tell a different story in the upper atmosphere.
We have had days upon days of cloudy weather, scattered showers and some heavier amounts in the local areas.
Enough . . . PLEASE! :(
It's tough golfing in the rain . . . really! Yes, I'm pouting! LoL !

Such a dramatic sky going on above this iconic tram shed on Princes Parade. There was a sense of drama and stunning beauty. After so many wet days this was just so beautiful and welcome to witness. And it was still light at 5.30 p.m , the season is edging towards Spring, so exciting.
Mount Valley Township - Iowa
When I realized what was happening with the weather and cloud formations, I grabbed my camera and headed out of town.
I find the contrast of earthy autumn colors and blue sky with interesting cloud formations to be quite beautiful. I'm a cloud watcher, always mesmerized by what can happen next!

Korth's Meadow - Iowa
I have taken many shots of this meadow, but each year provides a unique view . . . depending on weather, time of day and season.
On this spring day, the light was interesting depending on the cloud movement. It's one of my favorite local areas to hike and explore!

Breathing Landscape – Under the Spell of the Clouds 1.0
These photos capture moments when nature feels dynamic and full of life.
Between clouds and glimpses of light, between gentle hills and dramatic skies, a landscape unfolds that seems to breathe.
The images were taken in Saxon Switzerland on a day shaped by shifting weather, light, and mood. Sometimes wide and calm, sometimes intense and close – each photo tells the story of a different breath of the land.
I invite you to join me on this journey: through rain, wind, light, and silence – and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and impressions.

Stillness prevailed on an impounded Cuttagee Lake a few mornings ago. Council's plans for demolition of the heritage timber bridge and its replacement with a wider and characterless concrete version seemed far away.

An early December morning roaming the countryside looking for cloud shots. This is near the state park with fields of DNR land. The clouds were amazing and ever changing as I wondered around the area.
I have never explored that path over the hill . . . maybe I should sometime in the coming spring!

Forest Township - Iowa
A very windy day after a brief snow shower which is visible on the river ice. The sun struggled to shine with low clouds along the river.
It's the low cloud drama I find so interesting as they rush over the landscape.

The sky and sea was such a great backdrop for this couple walking along the Harbour Arm . A lovely moment .
Crystal Lake State Park Campground - Iowa
It was a very windy day to visit the lake area and park. No boats, no campers, no fishing or picnics! Just me and the cloud drama overhead! Sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph most of the day . . . gust to 40 mph.
You'll notice not too many colorful leaves left on ANY trees! :(

An enchanting sunset at Dannemeer in Schildwolde, where the sky appears to be ablaze. The warm colors of the clouds reflect beautifully in the calm water, creating a mirrored image that doubles the beauty of this moment. The Knuppelpad (Log Path) winds its way through the lake, adding a unique element to this serene landscape. A perfect end to the day in Groningen.

I took another trip out to Big Talbot Island this morning since the sun was out and there was some beautiful cloud drama happening (vs the other day when it was grey, drab and gloomy). I had such a great time out there, I was so excited I had to take some pictures with my phone to share immediately!
Another one from Munsiyari dusk. This one with cloud drama over Panchachuli 2( 22450ft).Better zoomed in..

When I saw the clouds yesterday morning, I had to go take pictures of driftwood at Big Talbot Island! This was my first view after walking out of the wooded trail that lead to the beach and I felt my heart skip a beat because I was so excited! It was a perfect day.
Sun setting over the Pacific Ocean creating breathtaking cloud drama. Photographed from the east side of the San Francisco Bay from Albany, California.
As dusk descends over Lower Largo, the rocks rise like half-submerged memories from the Firth of Forth. Green moss glows in the fading light, the sand still wet with stories. A landscape not quite ready to sleep.
