Torrin beach.

A view from the South side of Claigan Coral Beach on the Isle of Skye.

The entire beach is made up of tiny pieces of coral (and some larger ones too) and when the tide is out you can cross over a small stretch of sand (mid-left of this photo) to a small island that lies out in the bay.

From the top of the hill in the distance the clear water which laps up onto the coral covered beach gives off the most amazing colours when bathed in sunlight.

Sunlight in Scotland, oh yes indeed...

Just back from a trip to Skye with some mates. It has an amazing landscape! Some of the most beautiful places I have been.

This is in the south of the Island, Blaven (Bla Bheinn) is just off shot to the right covered in clouds.

Expect more over the next couple of weeks as I get through the processing.

This small peninsula called Rubha Hunish is the most northerly point on the Isle of Skye. It offers expansive views of many of the Western Isles including Harris, Lewis and the Uists and it is one of the only places on the island where you are likely to see puffins. A few friends and I had spent the week on Skye and we did not see a single drop of rain the whole time we were there! Rare indeed for the west coast of Scotland!

I really liked the way that the peninsula points to the Outer Hebrides and the way the cliffs on either side of the image frame the view. I also love the way the colours work together in this image. This is stitched in Photoshop CS4.

The sky was simply awesome as we stopped a hop, skip & jump from Score Bay on the Isle of Skye, the colours and texture could captivate your eyes for hours.

Meanwhile this lucky little sheep enjoys munching on some grass before heading for a nap.

While driving back along Glen Brittle I caught sight of this developing cloud formation over the Black Cuillin. Knowing it wouldn't last for very long I quickly searched for the best composition I made this image before it faded away.

A natural stone peak in the landscape, stood out from the more rounded 'bee-hive' shaped small hills around it.

The features of the glen are thought to have been formed by the same kinds of landslide activity over the centuries that formed Skye's larger scale dramatic landscapes pictured previously.

There was a very strange feel to the whole area, with few other visitors whilst I was there, and just the odd bleat of the local sheep breaking the silence. As I'd mentioned in my previous shot, it felt a bit otherworldly due to not fitting in with much of the surrounding area, and its look seemed to fit in with something you'd expect of a film set (incidentally some scenes from the film Stardust (... no, I've not seen it either!) were apparently shot on location here).
