A shawl is an Indian simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head. It is usually a rectangular or square piece of cloth, which is often folded to make a triangle, but can also be triangular in shape.
Chiffon, Lace and Roses gave my 8th grade graduation dress a light, airy and sweet look...
See the first comment for a picture of the dress. It's a lovely lookback.
The theme of our 8th grade graduation was Stairway to Heaven.

For Macro Monday this week the theme is “cloth”. I really enjoyed playing around with that. Happy Macro Monday/HMM
Macro Mondays
Cloth/Textile
Draped folds of silk in graduated tones of yellow, orange and red remind me of dunes at sunset.
HMM! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

Some cloth borrowed from my wife's Big Pile O' Fabric (TM), for macro mondays theme "cloth/textile".
Ruins of Van Patten's Mountain Camp, now part of the Dripping Springs Natural Area, which is operated by the Bureau of Land Management. At its peak, the resort had 32 guest rooms with murals, and the dining room featured a full-size piano. Muslin cloth covered the ceilings. There was an outdoor garden and gazebo for entertainment. It attracted the social elite and was popular among students from New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, now New Mexico State University, for picnicking, exploring, and relaxation.
The Dripping Springs Natural Area is located 10 miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico, on the west side of the Organ Mountains. It is a pleasant hike from the visitor center up to Dripping Springs, the remains of the Van Patten camp, and the nearby remains of Dr. Nathan Boyd's sanatorium for tuberculosis patients.
Thank you for visiting!
The edge of my autumn throw, that keeps me cozy on a chilly evening in fall.

Macro Mondays, theme: Cloth
The cloth here is an item of traditional male ceremonial clothing in Kerala, India. This "mel-mundu" is woven of cotton, with a border of golden threads, and is worn like a shawl over the shoulder for special occasions (rose petals optional).
For an image with scale, see here:
I dug this out of a drawer for today’s Macro Mondays challenge. I wish you all a great start to your week!
The lens ball shows the woven piece of the shawl reflected with it's vibrant colors. A local artist made the shawl and she is well known for her expert weaving. She fringed the shawl with tassels which you see under the lens ball. It's one of my favourite pieces of wearable art. HMM
Taken for the Macro Mondays theme of Cloth. A very small portion of a blouse found in the back of my wardrobe. No bigger than 2" . HMM!
