I've been getting really lazy about photographing my mocs. So since I've had some time off from work, thought i'd take advantage and get a little caught up. I had this idea in my head of doing a clock work/steam punk giant walking through a landscape with a castle, and this is what i came up with. I had fun working in micro scale.

Everybody knows that the best way to travel in space is neither by star ship across the galaxy nor by rover across a moon. The best way has always been and will forever remain to travel by monorail. But where did it all begin?

Unsurprisingly, the "creative" types in the notorious Vehicle Design Department of Llwyngwril Space Systems had a hand in the early development of the monorail. They decided that their various designs for rovers and buggies were far too practical and useful. It would be far more interesting for spacemen to travel on fixed narrow, tracks whilst delicate balancing a speeding vehicle.

These archive pictures show the early prototypes being tested. It was powered by two clockwork, "pull-back" motors. Fortunately the astronauts of Classic Space eventually award the contract to a rather more sensible design bureau.

"Why am I smilin' and why do I sing?

Why does December seem sunny as Spring?

Why do I get up each morning to start happy

And get up with joy in my heart?

Why is each new task a trifle to do?

Because I am living a life full of you"...
