Astronomical Clock detail. The outer ring gives the time in traditional Bohemian notation (beginning at sunset). The second ring of Roman Numerals gives the time in traditional notation. The inner ring shows the position of the sun and moon in the twelve sign of the Zodiac. Note figures of Vanity and Greed to the left and Death and the Turk to the right. These figures move on the hour and the golden cock crows.

The flower clock at Las Colinas measures 37 feet diagonally. The berm, constructed from 15,000 cubic yards of earthen materials is inclined at a 27-degree slope for legibility at both near and far distances. The flowers are changed four times a year to provide a constant array of color.
It's located at the intersection of John W. Carpenter Freeway (State Highway 114) and O'Connor Boulevard at Irving in Texas.

St Mary's church, Lymm.
Lymm rushbearing day today and going along with it St Mary's church opened up its tower. I got to visit and learn about the bell ringing room and how it all works (more interesting than I would have thought!), the clock room and its mechanism and finally access to the roof.
This was taken without the use of flash. ISO 3200
If you use the Flickr zoom in facility you will just make out on the dial that the mechanism was made by W Potts & Sons in Leeds - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potts_of_Leeds
from wikipedia:
"The Corpus Clock is a large sculptural clock at street level on the outside of the Taylor Library at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, England at the junction of Bene't Street and Trumpington Street, looking out over King's Parade. It was conceived and funded by John C. Taylor, an old member of the college.
It was officially unveiled to the public on 19 September 2008 by Cambridge physicist Stephen Hawking."
This clock hasn't actually worked in some time. It might be a battery issue, or maybe not. It is somewhat permanently at almost nine 'o'clock

Urban exploration (UrbEx) isn't something I typically do a lot of, but a close friend invited me to come along with him once, and I decided to give it a try. It was definitely an interesting and exciting experience, and made for some fantastic photo opportunities. Not sure if this is something I'd do often, but it was fun and unique!
The location is an abandoned hospital in rural Pennsylvania, which has only been vacant a few years, but the damage inflicted by vandals, vagrants, and scrappers has taken a considerable toll on building's integrity. Combined with fire and weather damage, it looks like it's been abandoned for decades, rather than years, and it's undeniably spooky inside.
This clock will never tick again.
