Nous sommes arrivés en France! We are staying in this lovely country for two months this spring. Our primary residence is Lyon, the third largest city in France, located to the southwest. It is a historical, cultural, and very picturesque city founded as the Roman city of Lugdunum, spread out over two hills and two rivers -- the Saône and Rhône.
With side trips to locations as diverse as Paris, Perpignan, Aix-en-Provence, and more, Steve and I aim to get our fill of a country neither of us has seen in a decade, and enjoy the cuisine, culture, language practice, scenery, and generally, la vie quotidienne.

The astronomical clock in clock court at Hampton Court. I skewed the photo to make it appear to be taken at my level, hence some distortion in the surrounding stone.
Still functioning, the clock shows the time of day, the phases of the moon, the month, the quarter of the year, the date, the sun and star sign, and high water at London Bridge.
Would have rather had a Rolex for this but, beggars can't be choosers.

A market stall selling clocks. And yes there is a person in there. The exposure isn't great because of some -very- brightly lit areas and some dark parts, so I'm a bit disappointed with the technical aspect of it. But I really wanted to capture the subject , so I guess it's ended up a bit of a compromise. Hope it doesn't look too bad.
