Currently sampling paint colors. We wanted an avocado/lime color to match our sofa on the wall behind our hutch/clock. Living with this for a while to see how we like it.
(Clock was a xmas gift I bought for Andis this year. Owls and mid-century Godiva sculpture are family heirlooms we inherited.)
A nixie clock! I'd never even seen a nixie tube in real life and there were six of them. I wanted to go running around grabbing people and yelling "It's a nixie clock! Right there!", but I didn't :)

IRS is the "Iron Ring Stag" and occurs the night that Engineering Students at the University of Waterloo get their Iron Rings. This is a Canadian tradition which helps engineers remember the duty they have to society.
This Clock was made to replace a similar one which was stolen a few years ago. I took some product shots of it and I will say that it looks 10 times more badass than the old one!

The big hand is neary at 11 and the small hand is nearly at the 4, that makes the time ummmm 8:15 :-)
The Sarajevo Clock Tower is located near the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque and is one of the largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The tower has 76 wooden steps, arranged in a square row, which a muvekit climbs once a week to set the time.
The clock must be adjusted, because it shows the time a la turca (lunar clock). It is believed to be the only one in Europe that shows the time according to the lunar calendar.
This clock shows midnight exactly at the moment of sunset in Sarajevo.

The Fob watch, designed by Seiko, was given as a gift to the people of Melbourne. The watch has a twelve and a half metre, two tonne chain, which was taken down during the centre's refurbishment and has since not been re-attached. Every hour, on the hour, a marionette display drops down from the bottom of the watch with Australian galahs, cockatoos and two minstrels performing Waltzing Matilda, under the watchful gaze of some koalas. The Southern Railway rationalised the railway system in Thanet in the 1920's. This included rebuilding Margate station. They gave it an impressive entrance hall with a nice clock inside above the platform entrance. If you look carefully at the clock itself you can see it is marked 'S.E.R.' - that is South Eastern Railway. Thus it is therefore pre-1899, this being the year the SER was forced to semi merge with its deadly rival, the London Chatham and Dover, becoming the South Eastern and Chatham.
