Being part of a massive protest movement that is meaningful and important to us is a powerful thing. Swept up in the 100,000-strong crowd in Melbourne yesterday as part of the Global Climate Strike was just that. Students were joined by anyone and everyone who wanted to show their support for this crucial issue. Made me feel good!
There are so many things going on at the moment that governments can change...stopping fracking for gas is one of them. Deforestation, bulldozing bushland for new residential developments on the outskirts of cities, logging - all of which cause dramatic and immediate loss of habitat; coal mining; allowing hunting and shooting for "sport" (seriously!)...I could go on, but I won't. You already know this.
