Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. Today I will be sharing the first set of photos of an interior design project that we have recently completed. For this project, we were commissioned to design the entire main floor of the home, as well as the primary bedroom & ensuite, which is located on the second floor. Any landscaping details that you see in this and upcoming photos of this project, have been completed by another designer.
In the first photo, you are getting a look into the formal dining area of the home. When discussing with our client her vision for the home, she provided an ample number of reference pictures for us to use. These pictures contained tons of white/off white furnishings, with black and natural wooden toned accent pieces, and flooring throughout. I would categorize the style of these reference photos as somewhat of a modern farmhouse style. To achieve this look, we started with some rustic base pieces. A slightly weathered dining table, old world hand carved stone fireplace with aged herringbone tiles, and a pair of distressed glass display cabinets. For the modern aspect of the space, we created a marble accent wall, which the fireplace is housed on. We then added in a contemporary style rug, Scandanavian style dining chairs, and a retro/modern chandelier. To finish off the space, we added two traditional style dining chairs at each end of the table, rustic accessories on the dining table in lieu of traditional place settings, and a more modern array of accessories within each display cabinet.
In the second photo, you are getting a look into the breakfast area of the home. A less formal dining space, but one that still follows the design principles that we’ve utilized in the formal dining area. A natural wooden toned dining table, modern style dining chairs in black fabric, and rustic styled accessories atop the table. Finishing off the space with a contemporary style rug, large contemporary pendant light fixture, and neutral toned curtains.
As always, the team & I thank you so much for following us along our design journey & supporting The Design Firm! You support is what keeps us going <3
Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.

Rooky and I are working away on our current client commissions. I am going to keep this post short and sweet, so I can get back to work! In the first photo, you are getting a peak into the primary living room of our client's home. As the room is so wide, we were able to fit three separate seating areas within the space! In the second photo, you are seeing our clients home office/study, which happens to be right off the living room.
