Happy weekend everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the lead up to the holidays :D Over the next few days I will be sharing photos of a full home design that I have completed for one of my clients.
My client requested a black & white colour scheme (one of my favourites to work with!) throughout her entire home. In order to keep the space from feeling cold and sterile, I used a lot of different textures and patterns on the throw cushions, rugs and even on the furniture itself. Additionally, I opted for a grey hardwood that had a bit of a warm undertone, placing additional warmth into the space.

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your Labour Day long weekend :)
Today I will be sharing photos of an interior design project that The Design Firm has been commissioned to complete for our client, Flo Mysterious (PHARGO) Our client requested a black & white theme throughout his home, which as we all know, is one of my absolute favourite colour palettes to work with!
To start, I immediately replaced the floors and portions of the ceiling with one of my go to concrete textures that I manage to use in some capacity at almost all of my projects. I then added in accent panels of black marble throughout the space, which helps not only to add a luxe vibe inside of the home but to also break up the large amounts of concrete that I added. On another note, one of the hurdles that this homes main floor presented was one that would normally be a pro in most houses, not a con. This would be the large & open air layout. Due to the large scale of the home, I felt that I needed to add in some form of semi-transparent room dividers or walls, helping signify the beginning & end of each entertaining space that I planned on creating. To achieve this, I added a couple of black mesh square panels into the space, which created the boundaries and semi-private feeling that I was looking for, without fully blocking the view of the entire main floor from each portion of the space.
With the main living space, I opted to create two separate but integrated conversation areas. Due to the length of this space, I felt that just one conversation area would leave the room feeling empty and under utilized. I opted to create the first space infront of a fireplace, using a sectional and two modern accent chairs (which I absolutely love BTW) This gives a slightly more cozy feeling, one that would be great for an evening with the family or to host a more intimate gathering. The second conversation area is a tad bit more formal, with less emphasis on the cozy feeling and more of a push towards the room that your parents didn’t let you sit in as a child :P
For the dinning area, I wanted to create a space that would allow our client to host a generous amount of their friends & family members. To achieve this, I used a large round dinning table, allowing for 8 people to be seated comfortably. Just to the left of the dinning area (out of the shot) there is a built in wet bar that we created for our client. This provides our client with a dedicated area to hold their beverages (sink & wine fridge included!) or act as a servery.
The last space on the main floor is the powder room. With small powder rooms (or even closets, foyers, laundry rooms, etc) I’ve always felt that you can really take a risk and pack in some fun patterns and textures. With this space, I opted to use a somewhat abstract black & white tile on the floor. I then chose to make the back wall of the bathroom a black marble, matching that same black marble onto the counter of the vanity. To tie the space together, I then added some large black crackled leather prints to one of the concrete walls in the space.

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all having a great start to your day so far :) Today I will be sharing photos of Homestead landscape that The Design Firm has been commissioned to complete for a client.
Our client requested a modern/tropical type landscape, something that would easily compliment the architecture of their home. Playing with the length of the home, my colleague Rooky Yootz immediately had a vision in mind for the layout of the space. It then took off from there!
We opted to install a custom L shaped infinity edge pool, adding in a subtle bit of detail that I really think adds a great pop to the space. We also added a tennis court, with custom fountain/reflecting pool, providing our client with another space to gather with family & friends. Due to the sheer length of the house, we were able to have a large amount of water frontage. We took advantage of that, creating a wide beach that can easily be walked up/down on those warm sunny days!

Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.

Another client who loved this kind of more 'antique' image of flowers, she did not know which flowers, but there was a colour-scheme in which these fitted!
