Sadly all approaches to the Council who said it wasn't theirs and to the home owner failed.
Note what appears to be an oblong solid or hollow pole.
The sign has now disappeared, pole and all, so presumably fallen over or removed and scrapped. It was in a terrible state and hardly doing its job.
Safe to reveal the location now, Tundergarth Road, Lockerbie, not far out of the centre on the tight left hand bend.

Did a client shoot yesterday and one of the most challenging ones I had. Plan was to shoot in an office but when we went there the office was locked, since we needed to do the shoot soon, I needed to improvise. I saw this hallway and the place appeared to be nice, all it needed was some light. But I had no stands, no umbrellas just plain flashes luckily the setup I used worked very well with the place and the client was happy with the results. Strobist info: 1 flash at 1/8th power at the back for fill at 85mm zoom, 1 flash at 1/16th power left side below to light up the body and 1 flash at 1/16th directly in front of the model
On Tuesday October 25, 2011, a representative of the Tennessean newspaper, a Gannett company, threw an unwanted product onto my lawn. Every year, I'm told this will never happen again. I am not, and have never been, a customer of this company. There have been no prior residents at this address, and I have personally filed four previous BBB complaints against this company for the same dishonest sales practice after several unsuccessful attempts to get this company to stop.
Today's BBB filing (# 37082459) is now the fifth complaint, and I hate doing this, but after confirming this morning that I am on their list to not receive any product from this company, what other choice has this company left me with?
In 2008, I filed two Better Business Bureau complaints against the Tennessean (#37048607 and #37047869), for this very deceptive business practice. In November of 2010, I filed yet another complaint (#37072813) after witnessing this garbage being tossed onto my and all my neighbor's lawns.
On 07-16-10, the BBB closed ticket #37048607 when Diane Bond with the Tennessean Customer Service fulfilled the request of apologizing and making certain this would never happen again. Bond stated I was added to a list to never receive their unwanted product, yet it has now happened three times since then.
This company does not respect home owners or the businesses who advertise with them. The Tennessean is falsely reporting to advertisers that their unwanted product was delivered to a qualified customer. This company is also falsely reporting this and several such dishonest deliveries in their circulation numbers to future potential sales clients. This company is defrauding advertisers and is slowly demonstrating it is dishonest and disrespectful to residents whose lawns they willfully trash in the process of defrauding advertisers.
REQUESTED ACTION: just like the last time, I have requested the Tennessean send their representative to remove this unwanted trash from my lawn. This time, I also asked for an apology and explanation of how the Tennessean has failed on five separate requests to comply.
