Clevedon Pier was built in the Victorian heydey to receive paddle steamer passengers from Devon and Wales. Today it is a focal point for events in Clevedon and once again you can take boat trips aboard the Balmoral steamer and Waverley paddle ship.
Back in Clevedon for one night only. No great sunset but plenty of high tide wave action during the blue hour.

This will be the last photo of Clevedon Pier from my trip the other day, I shot this one from the jetty looking across at the pier, at that time the sun was way too high and bright, so this was me having a play whilst waiting for the sun to drop, however I kinda liked it.
I was also testing out a new mini tripod (Leofoto Ranger ls-223c) which I’m hoping I can use instead of my main tripod when I take the dog out on a walk in the forest, so far, I’m happy with it but I think I’ll need a better ball head. Having said that I did have to go back to the car to get my main tripod for the rest of the shots of the pier as I didn’t fancy sitting in the mud.

Clevedon Pier is a seaside pier in the town of Clevedon, Somerset, England on the east shore of the Severn Estuary. It has been described by Sir John Betjeman, as "the most beautiful pier in England" and was designated a Grade I listed building in 2001.
Clevedon Pier, built in c1869, partially collapsed in c1970, was re-opened in c1989 and is now fully restored
Clevedon is an English seaside town in Somerset. It lies along the Severn Estuary and features in the Domesday Book of 1086.
Clevedon grew in the Victorian period as a seaside resort and in the 20th century as a dormitory town for Bristol.
The seafront has ornamental gardens, a Victorian bandstand and other attractions including the Marine Lake
Clevedon Pier, which opened in 1869, is one of the earliest surviving examples of a Victorian pier. On 17 October 1970, two outward spans collapsed when the seventh set of legs from the shore failed during a routine insurance load test. A trust was eventually formed and the pier and its buildings were restored and reopened on 27 May 1989, when the Waverley paddle steamer berthed and took on passengers.

THREE AGAIN. One from the fog a couple of weeks ago. I shot these three trees a year ago, there is something about how they balance one another. Of course the mist helps as does the remnants of autumn colour!

The Waverley is the world's last sea going paddle steamer and this month it is taking passengers around the Bristol Channel. Clevedon Pier is the UK's only intact Grade I listed pier.
Had a wander over to Clevedon Pier last week to try and catch the sunset, could have done with a few more clouds but it was a nice evening out anyway
A rework of a shot from Clevedon Court Woods taken at the end of Autumn last year. I've learned a lot about using Lightroom over the last few months and reworking some of my favourite images where I can see a way to improve them.

Another shot of a sunset scene at Clevedon in the Severn Estuary.
The bedrock in the foreground is lit by the setting suns rays and the side of this old Victorian Pier is also lit nicely.
The Pier was built during the 1860's and is now a Grade 1 Listed Building. It was also described by Sir John Betjeman as "the most beautiful pier in England"
