A small cleanout uncovered a tiny champagne bottle filled with bubble mixture and a lid with a plastic loop attached. Aaaah bubbles! I enjoyed the brilliant but fleeting colours they bring although I really needed a helper to blow the bubbles.

I've used a mask of the bubble to brighten up a photo of the flowering radish the bees and I are loving.

Making room for himself, or course.

In Del Mar, part of my Lightroom cleanout.

Comment and/or favorite with some feedback and I will return the favor.

Thanks

Lazy Sundays are for being lazy. Theoretically, I can get behind this idea. In practice, I am not very good at the execution part. Trixie, however, excels. She stayed with a friend overnight while I was doing the big cleanout and has settled right in now that she's back.

I took this when I was putting away some laundry as my safety shot for the day, but ended up really loving the result so this is day 8, done and dusted before the sun even goes down. Possibly a first for me. :)

sigh. I said an early fuck it and goodbye to my hiatus because every time I logged in I just ended up getting dressed for damn blog posts LOL. fuckin bless.

**Also, did a flickr cleanout. All past blogposts can be found on my blog still! <3

I've had a few girls ask me if I have anything left after my major closet cleanout. Yes.. I kept a few things :) - However, I've become a lot more selective now in what I keep and I'll try to continue cycling instead of hording :P

By 1985, not many Reading cast iron crossbucks were still in service. This one, guarding Elverson Road in Joanna, Pennsylvania, has little time left, as one of the final Grace Mine cleanout trains heads south. Almost the entire line to Birdsboro largely inactive since 1977, will be abandoned within a few weeks.

A quick bit of tree trimming opened up a pole shot at the lower sub. More cleanout required

The portion of the former Reading Wilmington & Northern branch between Joanna and Coatesville, Pennsylvania was ripped up in the early 1980’s, but the portion from Birdsboro to Grace Mine was kept intact. In 1985, a few cleanout trains were operated to deplete the stockpiles remaining at the mine. As this train passes through Geigertown, the rusty rails and weed-grown roadbed reflect the impending demise of this line.

What a beautiful weekend and I have some great finds I found at the Access event. First up is this unique pleated skirt I bought from HIME*Dream. I swore after my last inventory cleanout that I would not buy any more pleated skirt (waaaaay too many). But this one with the hearts trim was an original I had to buy! While at access, stop by S-Club and got this gorgeous new hairstyle too!

Since this weekend was kinda nice out I decided to go wine tasting with friends. So I paired my new skirt with a sexy top from Lybra and since it is fall I grabbed one of my favorite cardigans from Fashionably Dead. Nothing like wine with friends to pass away the afternoon!

The crew of the Grace Mine cleanout train has dropped their empty cars well short of the Elverson Road crossing in Joanna, Pennsylvania, and is now proceeding south to grab lunch at the Joanna Store. The train passing a typical lineside shanty and cast iron crossbuck is another vignette of the Reading Company that is quickly disappearing. This one only has a month or two before it is gone forever.

A trio of EMD 645's charge up Independence Hill on the UP Sedalia Sub. with MNA Train MNAKC 30 with a recently repainted SD40M-2 on the point. The leader started out as an SD45 without dynamic brakes in 2-1967 as CNW 907, builder number 32630, frame number 7945-7.

After serving the North Western it was sold to VMV then MK where it became a core for an SD40M-2 bound for Southern Pacific and was equipped with dynamic brakes. It was completed as SP 8650 on 8-10-1994. Going to the Union Pacific with the merger, it was renumbered as UP 2726 on 3-25-03, and repainted in 2005.

It passed to RailAmerica in 2012 and assigned MNA 2726. Genesee & Wyoming bought the railroad in 2013, and the engine was repainted in G&W colors during June 2018 and lettered for the Kiamichi Railroad.

One detail that I've noticed it's carried since its CNW days is the randomly located sand cleanout just below the logo on the engineer's side of the nose.

It's my day off today and I've been meaning to organize my girls a bit better. I have put up this floating wall shelf just for my Kenners........

The dolls are taking over an entire bookcase type shelf, so these girls have moved to the floating wall shelf for now. Idealy, I would love a doll house but this will do for now!

I think it's almost time for me to do a closet cleanout at TIB and perhaps a thin down of my Takara collection. I 'll keep you posted.

During the packing process of Brickfair 2012 these little guys went missing. During a recent cleanout I finally found them! Two are still missing, but that's okay.

I'm not as much into the physical building as I once was because of the cost, and I think these guys need a good home. I'm looking to get $120, which seems fair for 10 figures.

Oh, the B-17 might make an appearance at BF 2014 ;)

Bethlehem Steel’s Grace Mine in Joanna, PA provided countless trainloads of iron ore for the company’s main steelmaking plant in Bethlehem, PA. Joanna was located on the Reading’s Wilmington & Northern branch, which diverged from the Reading Belt Line at Birdsboro, and meandered through rural Pennsylvania and Delaware to Wilmington, DE. Post-Conrail, the W&N from Joanna south to Coatesville was abandoned, and the portion from Coatesville to Wilmington was spun off to short lines. By 1985, the ore had played out, and mining operations were discontinued. Once a week, a thirty car train of empties was delivered to the mine, and thirty loads of stockpiled ore were pulled back to Reading. Here one of those cleanout trains works the small yard at Grace mine. As I recall, there were only two or three more trains run to Joanna before the entire line between Joanna and Birdsboro was abandoned.

Midcoast Railservice operates westbound along the Wiscasset causeway with a cleanout train from the Rockland area. In the train are 17 empty cement cars and one empty perlite car, one loaded cement car, as well as 2310 and 2003 waybilled for New York. Effectively, the Midcoast is done operating on the Rockland Branch.

Back in March, when I was teleworking full time, I decided to start cleaning out my closet of things I haven't worn in a couple years. After 10 months of tripping over it, its finally boxed up to go to the charity shop!

2 lines of loks taken from the rear end (south) of the storage area.

The ramps were really handy with the wider one allowing photos of the longer line (right hand side in the photo) and then could walk back along the same ramp taking photos of the left hand side loks.

If 3 lines, I would have had trouble with the left hand line due to the narrow ramp.

Used the 18-55mm with as wide an aperture as possible due to the low ISO in the poor light. Was almost tripod conditions and long exposure (plus rain adding to the joy of photting!!).

The sale is now over! Thank you all so much ♥ I wasn't expecting so many visitors and such a positive feedback!

All products from sale are now gone, you can find some of gacha items at resellers stores and gacha yards.

just test driving. not sure if she'll keep it.

I do think it looks pretty fabulous though.

her previous hairs, the AA scalp, got sucked down the closet cleanout drain... so it's either this, or an Ice Rune scalp I am still waiting for. pretty sure she'll look amazing in that too.

We happened upon this E-Tank today and were curious as to what it was. The rep at E-Tank explained this particular one is used for storage at gas stations to store petroleum or other fluids for holding tank clean out.

Or sometimes they use them for wash water for pressure washing.

It's important not to confuse etank.net with etank.com as I did.

Only thing left to do is to burn the zombie corpses.

A local crew from Reading is in the process of picking up 30 empty hoppers at the Dyers stone quarry on the Reading Belt Line. These hoppers are not destined to be loaded with stone today. Instead, this train will proceed east to Birdsboro, and then travel down the northernmost remnant of the Wilmington and Northern branch to the Grace ore mine near Morgantown. The mine has been shut down, and the remaining stockpiles of iron ore are being cleaned out, serviced by a short-lived once-per-week 30-car train. This train will travel down the branch, drop its 30 empties at the mine, and return to Reading with 30 loads, which will be forwarded to Bethlehem Steel in Bethlehem. As soon as the stockpiles are gone, the branch will be abandoned, leaving the W&N intact only from Wilmingonton to Coatesville.

Getting lucky

Hosting clothing swaps requires coordination and logistics, but the reward is worth it. Besides scoring new-to-me pieces for myself, I love seeing my guests find their own prizes.

I hosted my third clothing swap of the year. Despite prior closet cleanouts, even returning guests had plenty to donate. The swaps always end with delighted guests and lots of leftovers for charity.I’m not wearing anything from a swap, but the sweater, skirt, boots, and belt are all thrifted.

Balmain, Sydney

I work with some pretty creative people. One of them, for instance, has recently took it upon himself to figure out how to color process old C-22 film. For those unfamiliar with C-22, it was the precursor to the modern C-41 process which is used to develop present day color negative film. C-22 was discontinued as a process between 1972-1973. Unfortunately you cannot process all that leftover C-22 film in today's C-41 chemistry as bad things will happen to both the film and the machine that is developing it (take my word for it, don't try it). There are ways to work around this though and people have done it. There are a couple of labs out there that offer C-22 color processing as a service but you can count them on one hand.

Well, one of my co-workers has made the case for bigger hands I guess. He is our darkroom tech at work (one of them at least) and he has been putting a lot of effort in these past couple of years specializing a developer for old b&w films to help minimize base fogging caused by age. He has carried that over now to old color films. Then during a recent attic cleanout at work we found this bag of Kodak Ektacolor Type S film in 220. Who knows when this stuff expired, sometime between 1960 and the early 70s. Plus it has been stored in Blue Moon's non-air conditioned attic for years. Seems like a great candidate for some test film, so I took a roll out and shot through it. The film was originally ISO 80, so I rated it at ISO 4 (roughly a stop per decade expired) and had at it then handed it over to our dark wizard to see what he could do with it. I wasn't expecting much so it is safe to say what he produced really blew me away. I wish I had a picture of the negatives because they actually look close to a healthy orange color in the film base. The images themselves have some pretty stupendous color shifts (this is slightly corrected, mind you). But wow, there is a color image off film over 40 years old. I was and am impressed.

And now he has amassed the chemicals to actually fully recreate the C-22 process along with a few other goodies he plans to throw in. I can sort of follow along chemically with what he is doing but certainly not all the way and it is fun to see him make leaps of deduction into areas that are dark to me.

There is a lot that goes on at my job in terms of the behind-the-scenes effort and investment. I am lucky to work with such a passionate and creative crew. I am sure that not everyone can say the same, so I try to appreciate how fortunate I am in that regard. I think it is also noteworthy that I have been with Blue Moon for almost 16 years now and I can still see stuff that blows my mind and widens my scope of the world of photography.
