THE HERON TOWER IS A COMMERCIAL SKYSCRAPER IN THE CITY OF LONDON, THE HISTORIC NUCLEUS AND MODERN FINANCIAL CENTRE OF LONDON.
HEIGHT 230m OPENED MARCH 2011, BUILT ON THE SITE OF THE BUILDING I USED TO WORK MYSELF.

This is The Egg, a performing arts center located at Agency Building 1, S Mall Arterial, Albany, NY located on/in Empire State Plaza.
The Egg was built between 1966 and 1978, and features some stunning Brutalist architecture. The venue itself is suspended in the egg shaped part of the building, and atendees are shutteled up by one of two completely round elevators.
These escalators go between The Egg and inside Empire State Plaza.
GONE - This is a later 1960s sideboard with lots of flair, and it would be right at home in Rock Hudson's swinging New York in some frothy romantic comedy.

The National September 11th Memorial commemorates the victims of the attacks at the Pentagon, at Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the World Trade Center site, both on September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. Two gigantic voids – in the footprints of the Twin Towers – and a surrounding forest of oak trees form the core of the rebuilt World Trade Center in New York City and provide a place for contemplation and remembrance within this revitalized urban center.

This was the last stop on our way back from a Oregon Road trip. We needed a stop over point because the drive back in one day was just a little to far. The Sun Dial Bridge in Redding Ca. immediately came to mind as a photo op. We came into town a little late, needed to eat dinner still + storm clouds were gathering with a pretty good chance of rain. So we made a bee line to the bridge for some cool photos. With Stomach's growling we just kept on shooting well into darkness because the scene was just so stunning.
Was playing with the cables & perspective with this shot. Later in this series (I will post these @ a future time:), the bridge will start to be lit up as the evening progresses.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN - Classic vintage Singapore teak 3-seater in excellent condition, with the lovely arms and slender legs we all pine for. We have done the cushions two and two rather than by threes for a more elegant mid-century look. It's completed by upholstery in a gorgeous, never-used vintage fabric that resembles nothing so much as a Chanel tweed.

in this view one can just about make out the batterns underneath the top. I tried to make a feature out of them. As the top shrinks they will stick out more, so i cut them a bit oversized to start with (so it wouldn't notice so much when they stick out).
This is just a proof of concept. I don't know if the metal will get too hot. But it's pretty and so smooth. I'm starting to enjoy sanding. Well, not so much the sanding but the result. Oh, and not all sanding has to be to a super high shine. This is just with 220. Since it's white, you can't see the scratches and if anything, they give some nifty surface texture. .
