Clean towels are the best towels to lay on. My grand kitty Mixie.

The storks are fledglings, mum just comes to clean up.

King Parrot (wiki)

Australian parrot. This is a male one and in my yard. There was a female one very close to him, too.

Turkey Vultures seem to have a "world weary" expression, as if they have seen it all, and there's nothing that can surprise them.

They truly are nature's clean-up crew, and when there is a group circling overhead, it's a good sign there's been a kill.

I read some time ago that in Africa, poachers kill vultures, as they would provide clues to the game wardens that there had been an illegal kill, and that's how they were finding the poachers. The kill of the vultures obviously created a lot of problems, as they are such an important part of the ecosystem.

In the long and broken night sticky with the bad dreams

You see the faces of the past slowly floating downstream

Like thieves coming in the dark to steal away your halo

And all the briars and the thorns scratching at your window

You say a clean horizon is all that you need

With nothing heavy in your hands, nothing dragging at your feet.

Sometimes you count the cost of everything you’ve been through

And all the wreckage of those lives strewn all around you

And now you have to be careful where you tread

Trying not to remember what you can’t forget

I’ve seen you tearing at yourself to shed your skin

And how you cannot stop once you begin

It clings to you again and again

But for that clean horizon you’d do anything

Ah, that clean horizon is always the dream

With nothing heavy in your heart or dragging at your feet

Nicht selten ist in der Bildbearbeitung nochmals Hand anzulegen. Manchmal hat man jedoch Glück :-)

Sometimes it takes more image editing. Sometimes less.

... of Marciano Della Chiana

Yet I always uploaded my pictures directly from SL - using firestorm. Recently I was not happy with the result and started to tinker with some filters outside and upload it afterwards.

This here is an old picture with some modifications (contrast, colors, ...)

What do you think? Is it worth it, or are "original" pictures the better choice?

For comparison: Original one

The (almost) clean paw of Linus. He loves to dig in the dirt and as he doesn't do things by halves he uses all four paws. Sometimes you don't even recognize the original colour if his fur anymore but unlike Fynn Linus spends a lot of time grooming himself and usually doesn't need my help to get clean again.

Was listening to some Depeche Mode...Violator era and the words were grabbing hold tonight:

Now that I'm clean, you know what I mean

I've broken my fall, put an end to it all

I've changed my routine now I'm clean

Laid on the beach, letting the water wash over me and feel clean. A recharging feeling.

An afternoon stroll along Duisburg harbor yielded this sunny-windy-cloudy shot of the Rhine.

I saw this duck on a pond during my walk on Saturday morning. It was the only white duck there but lived in a group of mallards who seemed to accept her. I guess it's a domestic duck, however it ended up on the pond.

My Wren's version

I just find it refreshing to know that big kitties clean themselves the same as small kitties.

Semi-palmated Plover

Virginia Lake, St John's NL.

It’s been a busy few days as the birds arrange and then rearrange their nesting materials.

An eastbound intermodal was hotfooting across the barren Iowa landscape behind a clean Chicago and North Western C44-9W and a Union Pacific SD40-2 in 1997.

In a few miles the hotshot will pause in Clinton for a new crew before continuing on to Chicago.
